Eurozone PBEM anyone?

Emancipation though... really?

You only just teched astronomy? Do you mean cottages instead of farms?

I do indeed mean cottages rather than farms (...early onset .... )

I thought it prudent to have the cottages ready before the Colossus disappears....

Actually, I was in an Always War Archipelago game with Ruff Hi, who also managed to pull Astronomy out of his a**e at an unbelievably early moment..
..and I still have no idea how he did it, either....

So you haven't teched astronomy yet then?

EDIT: I used 2 GS's, you have to put off civil service though, which isn't bad if you haven't got good cottage land in your cap.

EDIT2: I had to tech philosophy though, which sucked, if I hadn't got meditation for Shwedagon Paya I would have bulbed it 5 turns earlier.

I tend to postpone the techs that will deprive me of the benefits of GL and Colossus.

I'm also the kind of sad individual who builds castles for the trade despite the lifespan, so that's another reason...

Well I have citadels in most of my cities, you haven't got engineering yet.

Well now it will cost you 25% more. Hope that's a deterrent, don't like running so many spies really. Dunno how long to wait for doing an anti espionage mission, which always succeeds, and costs you 100% more.

Well, right now you are already receiving that cash premium. Each trade connection, each turn.
I guess you don't want that anymore?

I don't have any trans-ocean trading, so no cash premium here.

My world map is nearly as good as Batho's - I'm was only a couple of turns behind him circumnavigating. I haven't got paper though, so you need to have that to buy my map.

I haven't bothered to circumnavigate yet, looking for other people to open transcontinental trade routes with, I have astro.

EDIT: You can also see the splendour of Toadlibone with my enormous number of cities on my map!

EDIT2: Also, it's MADNESS to open borders with the civ that built the Great Lighthouse, unless you really need to.

How is it madness to open borders with the GL, if the GL doesn't work trans-ocean ?

By the time I have trans-ocean, the GL will be out of date ?

Astronomy doesn't obsolete the Great Lighthouse... it's either economics or corporation, I think it's economics?

EDIT: It's corporation, according to the War Academy.
