Export Civ4 Models to 3DS, LWO or OBJ?

Hi,

Sorry if the answer has been posted. I couldn't find it.

Is there any way to export the models with textures to any of these formats. I am trying to use a program called Pepakura (http://www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en/) to make paper models of them. Basically it unfolds the model and lets you print it out.

Where are the models located in the file structure and how would you export them?

I am specifically interested in the buildings.

As far as I am aware there isn't. The blender plugin may be able to do it, but I don't think so.

... and all questions belong in the main C&C forum. I'll see if I can get a mod to move this for you.
 
Actually if you import them into Blender (which I don't really know how to do but check out C.Roland's tutorial) I think from there you'll be able to save it as 3DS. Chalid and Roland are the experts on that, I'm sure they'll be able to help you.
 
Ok...I can save one as 3DS now but the texture mapping is messed up when I view it in another program, even though the mesh is fine.

Texture looks fine in Blender before I export. Are the UV coordinates messed up? Did I need to do something else before the export? Bug in the exporter?

Not dure about the texture. In blender it is ok but 3ds may use a format that is incompatible to blender. Maybe try using an other format as intermediate step?
I unfortunatley have no expierience with this.

Let us know if you got a model (including texture and maybe bones ?!) form CIV->blender ->3dsmax.
