I'm not sure if it exists (or if it could exist), but is there any way to export your newly independent nation from Colonization to Civ IV so that you can continue playing as a regular country?

I doubt it. The extent to which I doubt it is similar to the doubt I have that the sun will blow up tomorrow.

Its a nice idea to make a nation and play on afterwards, but Not without a minor miracle is this possible. The two are fundamentally non-compatible.

Besides, the resources, units, cities, opponents, technologies, founding fathers, produced items, and mechanics are ALL so unrelated it would be rather silly :p

Won't work. Remember that Col is a mod of Civ4. They took the Civ4 game engine and engineered a completely new game from the SKK on up. Any attempt to merge the two will only result in a great big crash. The game mechanics are distinctly different between the two.

One of the first questions about col was, is it a mod of Civ4 or a stand alone game? It is a stand alone game. This only shows how powerful the Civ4 engine is. What other game is there out there which you can do just about anything you want to if you have the skills? Including making a totally new game? Can't think of any. And you don't have to be a professional game developer to do it, as some of the more imaginative mods of Civ4 prove.
