External Monitor problems

So I get this nice and shiny brand new Dell 24 inch monitor...but it won't work with Civ. When I start the game up in windowed mode, I'm not able to drag it over to the external.

I figure this has gotta be something to do with resolution, right? When I start the game up it allows me to change it to either 1024x768 or 1280x800. My external doesn't have an option for 1280x800, but does for 1024x768. When I adjusted to that, still no luck.

Am I missing something here? Any help is appreciated.

Probably not. Aspyr seem to have removed the option to choose your display in Civ5. It's there in Civ4. Have you tried moving the menu bar to the Dell before launching Civ5?

Yep, just moves it right back. I found the below link from awhile ago, where it looks like you can mod the internal files to possibly allow more resolution options? Would that fix the problem?

In window mode the window size is determined by the resolution. As long as you choose a value smaller than the monitor, I don't see how monitor resolution should be an issue.

There's a com.aspyr.civ5.plist file in ~/Library/Preferences. I tried changing the display ID there, but that didn't help. Try contacting Aspyr Support?
