I can't get any of the function key hotkeys to work in Civilization V. At first I thought I was only having trouble with the quick save and quick load hotkeys, but it seems that it is all of them. I don't have any trouble using some of the regular hotkeys, such as G to activate the grid. What can I do to solve this problem?
This is it related to my primary question, but I also notice that the game recommends that I run it in direct X 10/11 mode. I happen to know that my video card is direct X 9 capable. I don't really understand what, if anything, this means. Should I run it in 10/11 mode anyway? I do notice some somewhat unusual shading issues when I do that.
