F3 causes crash

Sometimes when I hit the 'F3' button, civ3 crashes on my Athlon 1700+ XPpro nCrappia (er ah nVidea) 32meg card. Patch 1.29f, btw. I haven't been able to find anything on this, so if you know the fix, pls lemme know.

Also, I tried to 'search' the forum, but it said 'sorry the admin has disabled that feature'. Anybody know what's up with that? I thought I searched a couple of days ago, but it was pretty slow.

I think the last I ever heard about this had to do with drivers for the nVidia cards. Have you checked for updated drivers?

Search sappes the horsepower on the server so it's eiher that or the server busy message. Access is better than not.

Yes, I have the latest drivers.

Do you know the version?

I guess you went through the Sticky post about this problem at the top of the page? Some people had to do cart wheels to get the updates to 'catch/work'

I read through the sticky and I keep up-to-date with the windows update program. I'll look through it again, though.

I don't think I tried deleting the nVidea drivers first and then reinstalling the latest. Gonna try that now and play civ3 for a while.

I tried deleting the driver and hitting F3 repeatedly and it didn't crash, so I'm going to keep my fingers crossed.

It says the nVidea driver is version 3.0.8.7 dated 9/26/02.
