Greeting fellow Fanatiks! I have heard your talks and whispers throughout the ages and come here today to turn words into actions. For years citizens have talked about striking at France and taking their capital jem, Paris. It is a majestic city built on beautiful grassland with amazing production capabilites. Although I would favor taking Besancon, the people's will is my will. But if we want Paris to be part of the Fanatik empire, then we must make war with France. So I come here to you today to talk about the prospect of war with France. Should we do it? Is this the right time? You tell me Fanatikos.

Yes, now is the time to strike, our armies sit waiting to be let loose, And the people cry for war

Who cries for war? The military?

Bah! Self-serving.

I see no reason or benefit from war right now. We are at peace, have strong trade arrangements and are building our nation ever stronger. Our scientists have clear goals (Democracy!). From there, we can turn them to military objectives, if needed.

But until then, we need not launch into a conflict with our peaceful neighbors.

Improvements are being made that occupy city's build queues that could be producing parts to an army. Knights, our most powerful units, are a turnchat or two away from more fully saturating the countryside. We are currently building two wonders.

For these reasons, I say we can hold off. Let's get fast Knights ready at all corners to attack swiftly and take out as many cities and towns as possible before they know what hit 'em. Also, let's be in a position where if an attack goes poorly, we have the production ready to rebuild lost units. Currently, we have four cities with a barracks, but only two can produce units, and Priapos is a turnchat away from switching to a University prebuild.

If this needs to happen, we'll be ready, and we'll be ready soon. We could possibly do it now, but let's wait instead and do this the right way, not the impatient way.

I concur with the general temperment, our people are sick of wars, first we had to watch as our neighbours gutted the germans and then we had to fend off a pathtic attack by the miserable persians. After this we too took the axe to the german people. Lets have peace for a while. And if we need to fight a war let it be the barsted romans, they have betrayed us. Or the Persian mence who think they are cultural but not the peaceful french.

We now have 12 knights, 2 crusaders, and some medieval infantry (more than 5 I think), as well as enough hoplites to be confident in defense. This causes our military to be considered strong to France's. As such, I would support a war at this time.

We decided against war at the end of the last term, we now have some Knights with more on the way, so now is a much more appropriate time. Priapos and Olympus if they work together can each produce a Knight every 4 turns. Augean Stables can produce a Knight and a Crusader every 5 turns and Civantonia is rapidly reaching the stage where it will also be able to produce a Knight in 4. We are strong to France and need those furs. Styx is still building the Sistine Chapel and we must protect that so we need to be considered in our approach to this war. We need to take the city we want then be careful what other damage we do before taking peace. There is no point razing a city if Rome will just claim the space, that will make a harder time for later, but our borders are being restricted by the French cities particularly in the West and North, so some damage in those regions could be beneficial.

The attack plan IMHO is simple. Move all our forces to take over Besancon and still defend our cities, primarily Styx, Augean Stables, and Civatonia, the easiest targets for France. My city currently has adequate defense with the bulk of our army in it so no worries for Civatonia. Styx and the Augean Stables OTOH need some help. I'll need to check on their hoplite count but 2-3 are ideal. Especially Styx we really want Sistine's Chapel.
