Faeyl Question

Edit: To make things simpler I'll put the question here, and you can read down for context if you'd like :p

What are the chances of Faeyl, who has twice my power rating, attacking me? She's already in a long-term phoney war, and is pleased towards me (+12/-3). I'm Alexis and share the AV religion Faeyl founded. I'm top for score, she's my main rival just below.

Context: I'm playing a game at the moment (my first on Immortal) where, after a couple of wars, there's only 4 people left - myself, Faeyl, Cassiel and Einion. I've just overtaken Faeyl on score, and have the biggest empire, but she's got a tech advantage and her army is insanely large. At the moment she's at war with Einion and has been for a long time - i can't see the whole map but my guess is that she can't get past Cassiel's land to fight Einion, otherwise the war should have been over ages ago.

By now I know pretty much everything bout the units and buildings etc in FF, but I've not got to grips with all the personalities of different AI leaders. I've not played too many games involving Faeyl, but she seems a rather volatile character. What I'd love to do is take her out, but it will be a loooong time before I can get a big enough army (if i can ever afford one). Second best option would be to take a couple of Cassiel's cities, maybe some of Einion's too. I'm big enough for this, but I'm worried that if i move my men from the long border I share with Faeyl she's going to backstab and cripple me.

to manage such huge armies you need spells like binding light or similar.
if you can not hold the enemy in one place (and weaken it with RoF, maelstrom etc) you have a serious problem, especially against a raider enemy.

If you're concerned get your Shadows out asap and take the fight to her, without having to declare...just kill as many of her units as possible near your borders, spy out her turf and plan your counter attack so you know what you'll need and what routes to take to make quick work of her when she does declare, because you can bet she will. Of course if your shadows are more effective than you thought they'd be, she probably won't declare if you can wipe out her main attack force and trim down her city defenses.

Or else you could open borders with faeryl, grab some cities of cassiel so faeryl can attack einon for real, and when she put most of her army out of your reach, declare war and take her empire.

Cheers for the replies.

I decided that attacking someone else would be too risky, so I tried something else risky instead :crazyeye: I walled up my border cities and declared war on Faeyl, then sat back. I did lose a city further inside my empire as some Nyxkin got past me (they're really hard to see on fields of perdition), but ultimately a combination of walls, exp and RoF weakened her till a point where I was able to go on the offensive, cut her empire in half, and turn the most powerful force in the game into a puny 1 city vassal :) Now about that Infernal...
