OVERVIEW

Tired of AI deploying Le Secret de la Potion Magique infused Asterix & Obelix to steal all the Wonders from you?

Fair Wonder Competition (FWC) is a mod that cuts down AI's insane

production towards building Wonders so it's actually possible for player to compete with AI for early game wonders on higher difficulties.

There is also a version that only includes Ancient and Classical Wonders part of the mod.

Calculation is done after difficulty bonus so on Emperor it'll be similar to this: (

Yesterday I had a great time playing as Japan, but it was ruined by the poor game design choice some not especially smart developer made when he decided to give AI 120/140/160/180/200%

production on high difficulties towards everything including Wonders.
In that game I decided to rush Games and Recreations, placed Entertainment District as soon as I unlocked it and chopped 1 wood to finish it, instantly bought Arena building with 600 gold and started building Colosseum, chopped 2 additional woods for it. And Immortal AI still managed to build it just 1 turn before mine was completed, who needs a shock therapy when you can just play civ 6 on immortal/deity? I loaded that game to see and it was built in a 4 pop city that is not even a capital. This obliterated my morale. This is clearly a poor game design choice that is not even consistent with the in-game balance, just look at the policy cards giving +50%/+100%

It's not the first time I was very angry (RAGING) about it, so I quickly whipped this mod out. Fair Wonder Competition cuts down AI's insane

production towards building Wonders to way more reasonable amounts so early game wonders are actually possible for player to obtain if you go for them. Building Wonders is not the most efficient strategy for early game, putting you behind in settlers when you already start behind but at least it's attainable if you choose to go for it. Higher difficulties AI will still have a considerable advantage in Ancient/Classical Wonders because they have free builders, free settlers, their first district will go up faster and they'll get required tech/civic earlier than you, but Wonder competition should be noticeably more fair and consistent with the in-game balance. Thus it's actually possible to have at least some fun playing on these difficulties for someone other than masochists who enjoy their every Wonder being stolen by 4 pop cities.
