Welcome to the development thread of my Fallout Mod! I was trying to build it on different mods out there but finally I dropped it and started to build it from scratch!

The idea is to have three eras: Survival, Rebirth and Fall.

Technologies start together , but in the second era them branch off to Technology, Mutation and Savagery branches which are mutually exclusive.

Right now you see an early pre-alpha which shows that I actually do something, as well as provides you with the general idea of the setting and technology tree.

I would like to get your opinions, ideas and other types of support (graphics, code) if you can contribute.

I am leaving for a week to rest on a vacation, and I hope this thread gathers enough replies for me to combine with my own ideas and to make it much better.

Also sorry for the lack of factions, I didn't want to make "clones", I will try to make them unique.

Note that it is quite playable and unit/building strength/cost should be adjusted, but technology costs are not (because I will adjust tech costs only when I add all required buildings/features/units to them based on their value).

"Before"? Hehe. It took two days to take it to this point. Right now I hope people will make some art contributions , and I will plan everything thoroughly while I am away (so expect a total tech tree rework), and then I will spend a week to make a fully playable version of the mod. That's the plan.

P.S. Yeah, now I know that I will drop this tech tree, it's quite unnatural. For example, why can't a civ hunt without experiencing scavenging first?
I made it quickly and without real thinking. I will have 2 weeks without PC so I will have a lot of time to plan.
For example, different civs should start with different techs only they can research.
i.e. "sallies on surface" for those in vaults should be before gathering and hunting, thus tribal civs will get an upper hand in the beginning. I will have a lot of time to plan :P.

P.P.S. Also I think there should be city ruins around the place, and you should get random pre-war buildings if you settle on them.

Vault civs won't be able to do so, so they will start with a settled vault, but it will give good bonuses for that.

Okay, I hoped that I could gather some suggestions in this thread while I was away on the vacation but it looks like nobody is interested yet. Probably I should put more work in this mod for it to be noticed and to grab someone else to start to help me with additional things like art and ideas.

Anyway I am back from the vacation so I can start to work on it further.

Very nice looking mod, I am a huge fallout fan. I think, however, you should try with the BoS. Power Armour units might be hard to make, but the initiates could be reskinned from the SEALS. If you've ever played Fo1 you could see fight-like jets attacking the 'Vault Dweller' and Dogmeat, not sure if you could find a faction to throw them into. With the airships, you can try to make BoS Airships. You can add tribals too, riding brahmin into battle, with spears and arrows. Not sure what all you can do, but I have a ton of ideas to help you. And if you can get me a tutorial on how to modify the figures I could possibly help you. :3

This looks like it will be amazing. I would love to help out, but unfortunatley, I have never had the chance to play any of the Fallout series. Regardless, I will be watching to see how this turns out and am hoping to play it eventually. :)

Gah this is such a great idea :D But one thing how can you really "Reasearch Pre-War Books" shouldnt it really branch from scavaging, and be called like "Scavaging Pre-War books". Just an idea :) Either way its looking good mate.

after playing the mod on BtS, i feel that this mod would be a very good mod for Colonization. just a thought. by the way, great start to the mod.

Just gave the mod a quick play and thought it wasnt bad however it did crash 3 turns after discovering everything. Its still clearly a beta but I think its coming along nicely. However I think so much more could be done to it. In all fairness I have only truley played Fallout 3 (I have played 1 + 2 but never completed either) which means alot of the "helpful" ideas would be based around 3. Eitherway I think each Civilization should get like there own special settler. I think it would be great having the overseer which could build vaults, it would add extra defense however wouldnt allow trade routes with forign countrys or somthing like that. If you truley give a flip about my opinion I do have a fair few ideas for this mod, as me an a few friends planned somthing similar to this but never truley did it. Thanks for reading btw :)

I downloaded and went through a quick playthrough, and it's looking good! I just want some Power Armor now. Like this:

The wonders you can do with copy and paste.

Oh no, I didn't make that helmet. I copy and pasted it from some leaderhead I downloaded once. I think it might've even been one of Deon's leaderheads.

What if instead of "creating vaults" vaults where a terrain feature that only Vault dweller civs could open with an overseer and they became a city. The vaults could be specially fortified and provide resources that where hard (or impossible" to come by on the surface. but the balance is you cant choose where to place them...your stuck with wherever the vault ended up.

also you should definitely have all the drugs available. maybe they could be discovered on the tech tree and are then available for units to use as powers but if overused could result in addiction and the unit is weaker if not used more.

If I had any artistic talent and better than rudimentary programming skills Id help out...I got an A in my C++ class but have never worked on anything more complicated than a gui that changed color when you pushed a button :P

I do love fallout though and will definitely give as much input as I can. I think the important thing is to capture the dark humor and hopelessness of the Franchise as possible

funny thing is just ten minutes ago I was like....I wish someone would do a fallout mod....then bam i found this :P
