Well, for the grown up of us that like more the management of markets, gambles and probability theory, I am now presenting the

Fanatannia Market Simulation.

This simulation will take place independently of the roleplaying game, but will have several roleplaying aspects in the Merchant sense. Each player will be given 100 gold for investments and gambling.

This market and betting simulation will cover six different sub-games.

One. The Military Unit Fortunes of War Game

Two. The New Civilization Contact Forecasting Market

Three. The Fanatannian Real Estate Market

Four. The Fanatannian Strategic and Luxury Resources Market

Five. Cultural Flip Swazi Black Jack.

Six. The Forbidden Room. Localization of controversial wonder localizations

The Games Listing

One The Military Unit Fortunes of War Game

Every citizen may participate with a barganing chip, which is their named military unit. This military unit is then given odds on survival vs. victory vs. promotion vs. great leader. However, all players are allowed to bet on a military unit prior to a battle, and the number of bets will define the odds and potential returns of a win with that bet. Very weak units winning battles will have much higher return and very strong units much lower returns. We will use some statistical aid program to define the odds prior to a named battle which we will know for sure will take place next turnchat.

Example, warrior A will attack barbarian warrior B next turn on a hill.
The payout will be based on that statisitical chance of victory alone.

Two The New Civilization Contact Forecasting Market

Each citizen may guess which Civ we will meet next time in two segments, one from the Original Civgame and the other from expansion packs.
A win here will return in the payout of a ratio of the pure odds modifier.
Compare this to betting on Dow Jones and Nasdaq, you are likely to win on only one of them at a time, if you win.

Example. "Nobody" bets on that we meet the Japanese first, which is a 1:15 odds for the first Civ, and he bets 20 of his 100 gold. However, Nobody wins, and gets a full 300 payout, adding these to his 80 saved gold, a full 380 gold fortune.

Three. The Fanatannian Real Estate Market

This market will cover each citizen getting six tiles in a new city following the citizen registry list. However, each player can bet on the presence of resources depending on technology present resources (horses, iron, saltpeter, coal, oil, uranium and so on). A player can also bet on the number of future luxury resources will be present in his/her real estate. However, the placement of a bet in a real estate (that you buy) would cost 40 gold, but would garner the following rewards if the following resources are present.
Remember, all bets must be made prior to any city discussion of that name.
Only two players can share a city, and if the spots are contested, we will announce an auction in the Real Estate Auction thread to determine a winner.

MEDIEVAL PERIOD

INDUSTRIAL PERIOD

MODERN PERIOD

Example: Iron, Diamonds and Silks in one city would give a total of
150 plus 5X(100x60) = 950 Gold , a net profit of 910 Gold. However, we also add a gold per turn of the game write-off of the real estate value, so the purchase must be renewed every 40 turn to be eligible for the bet.

Four. The Fanatannian Strategic and Luxury Resources Market

This game would cover the entire Fanatannian economy. This game needs to be worked on a little bit, but would cover the flows of resurces traded/acquired by Fanatannia. Optimized forecasting of resource flows would give higher payouts. Each bet would cost 5 gold, and the assessment needs to be 100 % correct to give a payout. Each player may post as many bets as they wish, and as many as they wish of one type. This market can only take place prior to a new term, so the bets placed here must be placed prior to the turnchat after Creation Day.

Additionally, each player is allowed to have a favorite resource, each worth 15 gold each for strategic, and 10 gold for luxury resources and 5 gold for bonus resources, which will be shared by the end of term one by all nominating this resource as their favorite resource covered by this type of tile. Yet,

Gambles could be:

Would Fanatannia have iron within Turn X?
What luxury portfolio would we have by the end of term one ?
Would Fanatannia have horses within Term One ends ?
How many luxury trades will we make Term One ?
How much profit will we get from trades Term One ?

The payouts will be based on opposing bids, so if there is only one exlusive winner of a bet, the winner takes the bets from the others. I will present the bets in due time.

Five- Cultural Flip Swazi Black Jack

This game cover cities cultural wars, where each bet costs 10 Gold on the flip chance of a city and which turn a city flips. A flip gives double payout where the exact turn gives X10 payout.

Six. The Forbidden Room

This is a Policy Analysis Market. The bets will be on which side wins a city localization battle poll based on the odds determined by The House forecasts.
This game speculates in pet projects, strategy differences, policy interests and interpersonal relations. Inpired by General Poindexter and Admiral Ambidexter. All bets must be placed prior to the poll is posted.
Payouts will be based on the vote margin of victory for the winning option, and getting closest to that exact percentage and promille.

All citizens are given 100 Gold each.

Where up to 2 people can have share tile ownership in a town, I would like to propose that the city's sponsor be given the first spot and the auction qould only apply to the second share of the town. The requirement would be that the sponsor would need to be one of the first 2 posters to request ownership of their named town.

In other words, I want to make sure that I get to share in the ownership of Roosting Tree :D

City sponsor is guaranteed one spot, the other one is auctioned, fair ennough MOTH, that will be the rule

I have recently signed up and ATM, dont have an idea what is going on.

This is a major betting game where you need to read the market, know the statistical chances, RNG GODS, gamble on the right things, understanding in game politics and spreading your risks, using the game exploration and game development as randomizer for
creating our economic numbers, which again will build the base for a market and politics driven RPG, where your main character is your trading company.

I will add more rules as we go along, but I do not want to swamp the players with too many rules in Term One. I will add some new rulesets prior to each Term.

For comuting reasons, I reduced the number of player slots from 40 to 20.

SO PEOPLE, SIGN UP FOR THE LAST FOUR SLOTS.
