The new citizens of Hafen Land look forward to participating in our glorious victories to come.
 
Greetings Governors! I hope that this thread becomes a productive venue for cooperation and coordination of efforts.

We must continue production of military units for our war with Japan. Concurrently, we must construct some cultural improvements (preferably libraries) in some of our border towns to attempt to stave off the cultural onslaught from our neighbors. All the while, we must not neglect our production of settlers. We will need a steady stream of them to fill the gaps between our existing cities and those areas vacated through the conquest of Japan.

If you would like funding for rushing completion of any project, please post your request in the Budget Office thread.

In closing, I am excited about the term that lies ahead, and I look forward to working with all of you.

With the advent of Monarchy and the increase in the number of luxuries, we are currently enjoying a rather high degree of happiness. As such, I am strongly considering reducing the luxury rate to 0%. Doing so will not put any cities into disorder at this time, but a few cities may need some micromanagement within a few turns to keep the peace.

I realize that the laws do not require me to seek approval for such a decision, but I would like to get your opinions on this matter before such a decision is made. I eagerly await your response.
 
I am concerned about the happiness in my province. One of my cities rioted in the last turn chat, but hopefully, Trade can acquire some luxuries for us.

Greetings Governors!

The term is half over and we have accomplished much, yet the struggle continues. We must not rest on our laurels. The journey ahead will present new challenges.

As the war with Japan nears completion, we are faced with another enemy in Persia. We must not shirk our responsibilities to protect our citizens. We must continue to produce military units.

Having said that, we must not ignore our infrastructure. In order to make the prospect of increasing our research funding a reality, we must produce as many libraries and universities as possible while our military continues to expand our sphere of influence.

Finally, we should continue to produce settlers and workers. We need settlers to fill the gaps between our cities (both existing and newly liberated) and we need workers to connect these cities to our trade network and to connect our new luxuries (both Gems and Ivory!) to our cities.

I also wish to remind all of you that funding requests are available in the Budget Office thread. Do not hesitate to make requests, but be mindful that until we can adequately fund our own research efforts, we will need to spend a healthy portion of our income and/or treasury on tech so that we can keep pace with the rest of the world.

In closing, keep up the great work, and let's try to keep ahead of the "game" so that we are able to sustain our dedication to our positions without our responsibilities interfering with our enjoyment of the holiday season.
 
Don't fear the marketplace. Any marketplace constructed now will not only increase revenues in that city, but it will also generate 4 happy faces! That's much better than a temple or cathedral at this point in time. Also, as soon as we connect the gems near Dapperdan and the Ivory near Leningrado, we will add another 5 happy faces to those cities!

I would like to request that all governors include tile optimisation instructions along with their build queues when posting int the Turn-chat Instructions thread.

Those of you who don't are risking the efficiency of your provinces, since I am not a micromanager by nature and it often doesn't occur to me to check that your cities are running as well as they might during the chat.
 
If you want, just look at how I micromanaged my province. (Although, I'm not the top MM either, but I did learn from some of the best).
