To the Great Empire
From T'lur Pa

Greetings Valliant Warriors of the east! The people of the Green Reeds in Land Between greet you and send golden gifts of good intentions. We would treat with you to end the bloody war betwixt our nations. War that flew like eagles, without cause or announcment, down from these high mountains to the very shores of the sea itself. You would plunder for wealth and in doing so bring about your own end when the plundering is done, for the wealth you take is that built of trade and fraternity among nations. The very thing you seek to end.

We ask that you hear out our ambassadors and let them show you another way to the wealth you seek. Should you favor our embassy with such discussions, we would follow up with ways to bring peace back to all our lands and let it fill your coffers.

We will be willing to have peace, so long as you are willing to pay us tribute, that the wrath of the gods does not rain upon you.

The tribute will cease after you prove your good faith, at which point we shall resume normal relations.

Yes, I have your orders Iggy. I am still missing some major players who may decide to do something unexpected.

You still have like 6 hours to get orders in and I gave NK till Sunday since he is really important and is busy asking for a special extension.

Update may come Sunday it all depends on when I get orders.

I will sadly be unable to get anything more in within 6 hours, so I hope what I posted is acceptable. Within 12 hours, yes, not 6. Sorry :(

Starting orders now, even though the map was never fixed...

Orders sent!

Chief Vada Deposed

They chose to do it on a night when a full moon blazed in the sky. Looking back, the elders would realize what the date symbolized. When the sun came up, not only the night of the wolf had ended, but so had the reign of the wolf had ended. The man who had led the Vlakan for so many years was gone, killed in the night while he slept in his hovel. The city of Vlada was rid of its most feared warlord, and in his place, a new force rose. His killer took his place at the head of the clan, of the nation, he was the Barbarian King! Word spread like wildfire of Vada’s death, and the new leader became simply known as the “Butcher of Vlakan.” In a normal land, a name like that would have been devastating, but here in Vlakan he was regarded as a true warrior, a hero. In his first day as leader of the Vlaka he declared “IT IS TIME FOR THE VLAKA TO TAKE THEIR PLACE AS THE MOST POWERFUL NATION ON EARTH!” It was not a saying without meaning. The Butcher rallied the armies and marched upon the surrounding lands, they were meant to be his. They conquered tribes, killed clans. The Butcher had truly brought the Vlaka people to think differently. No more were there famines, the conquered nations were rich in farmland, and the habitants were forced to pay tribute to the Vlaka homeland. No more did people mistrust their leaders; no more did the average man live in fear. The Butcher of Vlakan had brought a nation together. Men from surrounding villages, even rival tribes were beginning to desert to join the juggernaut that was Vlaka. The army grew stronger, the people grew stronger. The Butcher was a made man, a proud man, and personified all that was the Vlaka, his fighting spirit, his simple touch ,his knowledge of war… the people loved the Butcher…
It was the start of great things…

had some time so decided to write a quick one...

It is 50 L.K. Fifty years into the Shining Years, fifty years after the completion of the Du'al monument. The battle with the barbarians long ago is now an old wives tale. Stories have been embellished, exaggeration practiced, and overall the war has lost much of its significance. Still, the Hyolnians still remember that they won because of luck, and so they strive to avoid future conflict. It borders a paranoia level as they think of what could have happened, but that never makes for pleasant idling time, so they try not to think about it.

Varst Du'al stood in front of the people. He was an Ozrai of the Truth/Du'alism - it was about a fifty/fifty split on the name. It was purely cosmetic and the nine religious leaders felt that it wasn't important enough to quibble about - at least it kept the people unified.

"Hello," he began. A wonderful introduction. "I'm Varst Du'al, Ozrai of the Truth and part of the Council of Nine." The audience indulgently applauded politely. They already knew this.

"As you know, I am a descendant of Roland Du'al, the last author of the Book of Truth. He is a saint, a Liaaymguratudo!"

The people began to look uneasy and mumble among themselves. When was he going to say something they didn't already know?

"And so I call you here, on this 50th anniversary of the completion of the Du'al monument to call to attention something we have now just discovered! I do believe with all my heart that he is the Koraotikanliakut, the Chosen!"

The people audibly murmured. Varst took this opportunity to compose himself.

"You may be thinking, how can we tell?" He didn't wait for a response but nodded. Another Ozrai scurried up to him and handed him The Book.

"Watch, and be prepared...you may be asking, 'Why did it take so long? I have to answer, 'Because we had to verify!' Listen!"

He brought the skeptical audience under his spellbinding performance. He led them through the prophecies. It was tedious work, but he enthralled his people.

"He shall prophesy and write until he is old..."

"He shall send barbarians scurrying with his word..."

"Look, he has had one single son, who begot an only child, who begot an only child...and so shall continue until now! For the prophecies say, 'After his image is created, two score and ten years shall pass before a descendant bears a female, and she shall be so fair when she is born as to shame snowcapped mountains, for her beauty surpasses even that.'"

People could be heard whispering loudly.

"Could it be? The mountains seemed oddly devoid of snow this year..."

"This year was the hottest I've remembered in a long time..."

He took a breath. He had been talking for hours. But now was the good part. He nodded again. His wife scurried up with a bundle in her arms. It didn't take a genius to figure what the bundle was.

"I would like to present my daughter, Christina Du'al. She is the last link of the prophecy. Surely I am the chosen, as well as she! How can you deny it, with this proof! And so I would like to announce something.

"Starting today, we are building a Kinsman Keep. It shall be a massive fortress in Hyoln, my beloved home city. Included shall be libraries and study halls. There shall be enough room inside so that people may flock in and vend things if wished. A marketplace can and will take up much of the space. Living quarters as well shall be housed in there.

"As for the Council of Nine, well, do not fear! You may remain and rule. I hereby resign from my position as Council Member. I think I shall be far too busy with my religious duties..."

Yes, my pathetic attempt to make my religion interesting and also to make Du'alism something unique.

Your pathetic attempt to dismiss your story as rubbish in order to avoid comments on it? No stories suck, only those that really suck. :D

Oh, no, I like comments, I just happen to honestly think it's not that great. I typed it up at like 12:00 midnight because I had nothing better to do.

But comments would be nice, yes.

Actually, if I think about it, perhaps the only reason for doing this was to make Farow add Dualism to the Religions of the World thing. =P

Well, mine is still not there... If Dualism is listed before Fizcatian Atheism, Farow will feel the wrath of the Owl. ;)

As for your story, I wrote mine about 4 in the morning, right before I hit the sack. :p

Sorry for my absence guys! Typing orders now, even though I'm late and a jerk for being late!
