Farscape Peacekepper's Command Carrier

Hello everyone.

This unit is a request from Ajidica for The Peacekeeper Wars mod.



It has a poly count of 1487 and uses the Final Frontier Destroyer animation. I tried to add teamcolor to it but unfortunately didn't succeed :(.

The PK Fleet Command Carrier.


A modified version of the Command Carrier with added gun ports and firepower. Uses a modified FF Battleship animation, and has a poly count of 1499. Standard and teamcolor versions provided (as well as the animation).

Actually, it wasn't that difficult. I had to add an alphaproperty in the nif, find the right setting for it:crazyeye: and edit the alphachanel of the dds. ;)

I have updated the file with the team color version, both versions (team and non team color) are in the download. I also added Chamaedrys as an author.

Ja, aber mein Deutsch ist sehr schlecht. Ich habe Deutsch für ein Jahr studiert, aber reales Leben hat mich beschäftigt gehalten, so musste ich meine deutschen Kurse stoppen :(

Thanks, right now I'm commited to the B5 mod, but sure, I'll make some models for your mod. I loved Starcraft, you can count on me to make some Terran or Protoss models, not the Zerg (I hate them :mad:) and since you have already started to make the mutalisk... :ar15:

I've made a mutalisk, a guardian and a devourer, but I don't know how to animate them (or at least how to attach particle effects to them when they shoot and explosion when they die), that's my problem :).
 
I don't know animation either. But the process I follow to attach particles is the following:

1. Open your nif with nifskope
2. select your mesh in the tree, right click and "copy branch" (block > copy branch)
3. open the civ unit you find to be the closer in firing animations/engine glow-thrust
4. "paste branch" (block > paste branch) on top of the DUMMY_Destroyer_Hull (talking Final Frontier)
5. edit the particle effect's position and scale (even add new ones).

Check the B5 mod thread on page 34, there The_Coyote explained me the procedure to do that.
 
Would it be possible to add a version with larger guns underneath the ship using the conventional battleship attack anims? If you could modify the model, adding the animation might be an interesting nifskope project for me.

Yes, it is possible, but what kind of larger guns? could you show a picture of those?, or describe them a little bit more... there is not much room between the "wings" for larger guns and we are running low on available polys if we want to respect the 1500 max poly count.
 
I mean on the bottom part between the two fins. They don't nescesarily need any more polys, just enlarge them. In the Peacekeeper Wars movie, you see a fleet command carrier briefly, and from what I can tell they have larger guns underneath the bow of the ship. (Also seen on the Zelbinion in S1E7.)

I found this picture of the Zelbinion, but see no signs of such weapon, perhaps you could point me to it a little more graphically? :p.

BTW I'm not familiar with Farscape, even tho I once watched a couple of episodes.
 
I don't believe cannons below the ship is entirely cannon. However based on Peacekeeper battle strategies and common sense it would make sense for cannons to be there. In addition in some shots of command carriers you see what might be cannons there in the area I have circled. Unfortunatly, compared to many sci-fi shows farscape tends to take effects shots from strange angles so although it looks cool, it makes finding scales for them hard.

Also, according to Farscape canon, the Zelbinion is over 100 years old so it would be reasonable to assume designs would have changed.

I don't quite like the way it looks, plus those weapons should have a higher profile... how many of those do you want?. We could also add a few turrets, one in the top of the ship also looking forward, and one also in the top of it but looking backwards.
Would you consider an animation like the B5 WhiteStar one?, firing both the frag cannons and the lasers?
 
That looks pretty good. As for the weapons, no more than 3. I'd prefer to stay away from turrets as the model already has enough polys. I also don't remember any PK ships with turrets for primary weapons. The scale of the ship is already pretty large, I believe it is around 2 kilometers long so any turrets would have to be pretty big.
The White Star animations would look nice on it.
