Hmm I tend to play the dutch quite often, but that's probably more because of their cre/fin leader, Will-something-something.

As for just civ, I would have to say Persia, for no apparent reason other than I like them.

I didn't take the poll because I will use whatever Civ leader has the particular traits that I want to use on the map that I'm in the mood to play. I always change the names of the cities anyway, so it doesn't matter which Civ I use. So, I don't have a favorite. On a side note, I would suggest that you don't cast stones at China, most countries have problems (in the past & present) they aren't proud of, including the U.S.

America sucks in civ, but that's part of why I like playing it . For that reason I also like using Sid of the Minors.

Default civ, though he has to be worldbuilder edited in. It's probably possible to tweak the XMLs so the minor civilization is playable too though.

Or you can make a custom civ by copying the LH info for barbarian, rename it MEIER, then make him a leader of something else.

oldest was China I believe. Egypt is second oldest.

Oldest civ that is present in the game is Sumeria, dates back to 6th milenia BC.
Oldest civ currently known (that had written language) was in Anatolia/Balkan region, ~9000 BC.
