Civilization wasn't until Sumeria in 3500 BC...
What? I thought all civilizations started in 4000 BC!
But seriously though, there wasn't even agriculture ANYWHERE in 9000 BC...
In all fairness, the largest contiguous empire was that of the Mongols. I think Great Britain outperformed them on an absolute scale by the end of the 19th century/early 20th.
Napoleon is easily my favorite leader of all time.
I've been playing as Napoleon for the last week or so trying to win a domination game on noble. Finally won, but I'm a little sick of him now.
His traits are the best. If I play France, I'm playing Napoleon. I've been Louis XIV once in Vanilla and never played De Gaulle.
China, becouse they are the perfect race for someone out to build wonders and culture pop everyone. I hate fighting wars before the modern era, and by that time my empire will have expanded by 10x becouse of the culture.
You stretch term empire too much.
I voted for BE as they covered biggest territory, had awesome fleet and facial hair style.
BTW, the world's oldest civ is Sumer. The world's oldest empire is Akkad. Neither of these are Egypt... and the China comment is just racist. And Rome wasn't even close to the biggest empire ever. And the Incas aren't even on here. Fail poll is fail.
I think Louis is one of the best leaders in the game, with the Ind, Cre combo. It works for me. (I have a Mac, so no BtS, so I don't know about De Gaulle )
USE BOOTCAMP! I'M TELLING YA!
Edit: Whoops. I thought the sever automatically uncaped the words when it was all caps, guess not. So, I don't mean to be offensive here.
The Zulu Empire is the best, aggressive/expansive, with the special barracks that reduces maintaince by 20% and Impi the best medic, pillager and horse slaughterer ever.
The Incas. Fin/Ind are the best traits. Period.
Aggresive and Expansive are decent traits. I don't really like the UB because I'm not going to build a barracks in every city, and the UU is just a faster Spearman, which I find useless because it's going to be in the same stack as Axes/Swords/Cats, etc.
Financial is one of the best, and Industrious can help you spam wonders. The UU allows for a VERY early rush, and the UB is basically a combination of a Monument and Granary, which is awesome.
Personally, I don't really have a favorite.
I put greece, also Rome was NOT the biggest empire ever . It was certainly one of the most cultured and one of the biggest. I think the biggest empire is the Mongols (from pacific ocean to mid. east)?
That's the traits of their leader (which you are named after ), not something about the Incas them self. Game wise their UU is kinda lame, either you abuse it and rush or it's almost useless, their UB is nice enough though, extra early culture is always appreciated.
As for all the comments about the Roman empire not being the biggest, it kinda depends on how you measure it. Pure size as in square kilometers it wasn't. But as in population-percentage, relative to the entire worlds population at the time, it was the biggest ever to have existed, which if you ask me is the right way to measure it. My first post stands though Persia is still the best there is
Industrious is such an overrated trait. I'll take Cha, Phi, Fin, or Org any day. And on most days I'll take Agg, Cre, Exp, and Spi as well.
The way I see it: I can sack all the wonders I want through invasion. But you really can't conquer your way to more great people or to get half-priced civic upkeep or less XP to upgrade units. The list goes on.
I was going to vote Dutch or Vikings but since neither are an option i'll go with England.
Did you ever, maybe, consider that not everyone is a war-mongering Shaka fanboy?
