Post ur fav unit here and why.

My fav unit is the Roman Legionary.

The knight.

1.- 4 on attack.

2.- 3 on defense, so they are able to defend themselve, no need for slow moving foot defender.

3.- Move 2, so you can end your turn on mountain or hill or forest to have defense bonus.

4.- They are able to retreat if red line, it save some units life.

5.- Waging war with knight is a perfectly time war, a.i.'s city doesnt have a lots of cultur, they have relatively weak defender, like spearman and pickman. Its very feasable to conquiere you entire continent with them.

6.- hint, reach size 12 city and optimise for maximum shield output, it is possible to have a knight in 3 turn ( with a good capital city), you need 24 net shield per turn. All other city could produce them in 4 turn, you need at least 18 shield per turn. 3-5 size 12 city producing knight can easily overhelm a.i. poor production management.

7.- Elite knight spring great leader in a very good time, the medieval great wonder just wait to be rush by.

YES! I love knights! Cavalry are awesome too, but they take so many shields!

I have always loved the Infantry, such great defenders. They can also attack, although I wouldn't mind seeing then have a slightly higher attack. They make a fairly neat noise when they attack, that little gun going off . . .

My favorite unit is the lowly Warrior.

Why, you might ask? They only can attack with a rating of 1. They can only move once a turn. Their usefulness is even short-lived in the Ancient Age (save for explorers, maybe.)

Yes, all this is true. The meek Warrior cannot be expected to take a city, or to survive a fierce enemy attack.

But remember what the upgrade to?

Cavalry.

It dominates the late Middle ages (is that an oxymoron?) and the early industrial ages. The movement of 3 allows them to travel the world too.

and most of all, i love the sound they make when they fortify...

My favorite unit his the Modern Armor, because of the attack strengh (i think it's the best) and the fact it's another fast unit.

I like the knight the best too. You get them fairly early on. I'm only a new player though. Yet to try the regent level. What is everyone's favorite unique unit>civ>science path. I'm pretty much settled into rushing for the great library and hoover damn. I love those little workers too. I just can't stop building them and trading for them.

My favorite - artillery. I find it impossible not to go to war when I have a nice stack of artillery sitting around doing nothing.

I guess Infantry is great just as any defense units when you get repleacable parts first, but god I hate it when I have to bring 15 sipahi to take down an enemy city with infantry, they're too strong for too long.
By the way, the Sipahi is my favorite unit, i'm an ottoman for life!
Save your money, build culture and knight, get the military tradition first, upgrades your knights and then...... TAKE OVER THE WORLD MOUAHAHAHHA
