You know, this is the 1219571st topic on this forum.

Besides, this one doesn't even have a poll. :(

I made my own modded race: the crazy canucks. UU is a guerilla type of unit with stealth attack (to simulate the french canadian/amerindians ambushes of dumb english line infantry, in the 1750+'s) and they're agr/rel. Other than that, my fav would have to go to celts

    my Favorite are the Celts,
the one i use is the Persians.

The reason you do so well with the French is because there traits are probably the best combination of traits in hte game(now only if there blasted UU wasnt so shoddy)

Celts are now my favorite and I think they are the best civ. The double speed sword rush GA cannot be beat. It gives much more land than a normal sword rush. Agricultural and religious gives more, happier people.

the french UU rocks! both in play the world and conquests. just the golden age time is good enough for me. also, the french starting techs are good for getting the great library. masonry for palace prebuild, and alphabet to get closer.

Yeah, I agree. I love the Musketeer. In PTW and C3C, the extra defense makes the AI avoid them until Cavalry. In vanilla, they are the perfect unit to conduct a longbow/musket/catapult war with. I love those wars. Especially against Cavalry.

The Byzantines. Not the strongest, but... so?

Close second goes to Greece. Same reasons.

Celts. Ag is huge early game expantion, and can make a better & faster expantion on dry map when the AI are struggling. Less anarchy = more army. Dutchies close second. Again, Ag. Seafairing means tech broker on continents, plus a head start on philosiphy.

No votes for the Iroquois yet?

Agr and Com means huge, productive empires.

Best UU in the whole game: When you are attacking at 3 with retreat and the world is defending at 2 in towns, life is good.
