My favorite faction is either Morgan or Lal. Morgan because for the most part, I've always played him, and Lal because I get extra votes for the council lol. Add that with the Empath Guild, and I get 100% more votes.
It might help if you tell us what kind of SMAC(X) you are playing.
Do you have accelerated start? Pods on? Transcend difficuilty? Heavy fungus? Slow research?
All of these things and more make a big difference as to my favourite faction (it largely depends upon the game settings)

I'm not asking for help. Which of the factions do you like. Obviously, it means all of them. Default rules, by the way, I guess.

Under default rules I enjoy the Gaians for their mindworm hijinks, but I tend to play harder rule settings as the Hive or the Cybernetic Consciousness (Alien crossfire)
