Hi,

What is your favorite Leader to play in Civilization IV Warlords and why?

Thank you,
Rosy

In Warlords its Hannibal
Financial and Charismatic are a good trait combo
Financial, well a sound economy never hurts
Charismatic helps with early happiness and the quick promotions benefit your army
The Cothon is an excellent UB again helping with the economy and in their period the Numidian Horsemen are an excellent unit

I love HC, but then again, who doesn't. Current game with Roosevelt; he's an animal. Rameses is fun. I'm noticing a trend; I think I've got an Industriousness fetish. Going to have to give Stalin a shot now, I guess.

I like Churchill

Why? Churchill ffs

my favorites right now are
Ragnar- Aggressive, Financial
the financial trait helps me support a large army while i get a free promotion with those easily supported units
Saladin- Spirtual, Protective
no anarchies means i can get ahead of the non-spiritual opponents and i dont have to worry as much about defense with drill and city garrison
Bismarck- Expansive, Industrious
with the extra health and faster built workers, I can have bigger cities with all of my resources hooked up, allowing me to use those resources to stack with the Industrious trait to get wonders out in less than 5 turns :goodjob:

1. Catherine, either Vanilla or Warlords. Queen of REX.

2. I do like Ragnar, although I haven't done well with him. Agg/Fin is a good trait combo and I like both the UU and UB.

3. Ever since I read the articles on SE and Hybrid Economies, I've come to like Philosphical and Spiritual more, and so Gandhi in Warlords sees more use than he did formerly in Vanilla.

Capac is the best.

Not most fun to play though. I like Egypt (Hatty/Ramesses) myself. Mmm, war chariots ;)

Stalin, since he is my playing style, Aggressive, Industrious. Which I have a Industriousness fetish and I am very aggressive.
and Saladin having Spirtual which means no anarchies. Even I have no need for the Protective since I am more aggressive.
and Napoleon Bonaparte having great traits Charismatic, Organized and I like the guy to.

My favourite is Ragnar... Financial makes your economy quite easy to handle, without as much micro-management and planning as it often entails. Aggressive is just plain fun-- strong troops with lots of promotion paths, are fun to me. And of course this is why I love the UB... A fast navy on a water map leads to some very exciting intercontinental warfare and again gives my ships more choices in terms of promotions. The only way they could make Ragnar better would be to make him charismatic instead of aggressive, but that would probably be overpowered.

If you have BtS you could play with Unrestricted Leaders and thus play as Hannibal of the Vikings. That would prove if CHA/FIN with the Viking UB & UU is overpowered. (Although it certainly seems like it is, assuming at least an average starting position.)

I try to play all the leaders to have a balanced experience before trying the next level of difficulty.

It is nice when you wind up with the leader traits that fits the map and victory you want, like money and wonders for culture wins.
