a close facsimile of the "Philly Cheesesteak" is relatively easy to make at home. chip steak (thinly sliced round roast i think) can be bought at most grocery stores or butcher shops. it's pretty much what is used in the steak sandwiches in PA, NJ, and DE and is delicious w/ some fried onions, peppers, and some cheese.
There's a place here that makes a nice sub called the "nuclear sub," which has coleslaw, bbq, texas pete, turkey, and melted muenster on top. It's a thing of beauty.
