I voted Civil Service. I like the one that lets me spread irrigation. For some reason I like to spread my farms to get food to cities that need them. I even place some cities in places where they won't do much until I can do this but will be great once I do.

I'm also pretty fond of construction and code of laws. Then there are electricity and radio. I always want to build Rock n Roll, Broadway and Eiffel Tower.

Yer I do like irritigation, it means that those cities with no rivers nearby and their hills being mined can be eating well too!

Hm. I figured peoples' favorite tech would be either bronze working or something else (and why they think it's better than BW).

BW is ok, an important military milestone (and part of my Cav Beeline) and I am always annoyed when I can't make a Tile Improvement because there is a jungle or forest on top of it :)

    Not forgetting slavery :whipped:

(personally I never use slavery; too many BtS Slave Revolts)

Either Guilds (for the knights and bonus) or Rifling for unleashing Cavalry. A common way I win is by stacking knights while beelining Mil. Trad. and Rifling, then upgradin dozens of horse to Cavs/Cossacks and taking out most of my neighbours in a few years.

Voted for Rifling. I always beeline for this tech, enabling me to crush the rifle and musketmen defended cities of a neighbour of choice.

My real favourite tech is, however, alphabet. Getting this one asap (skipping techs like bronze working) is such a huge advantage, provided that you meet some trade-willing civs.

Hmm, can't decide between Civil Service and Biology, but I like both because they make my farming more efficient so I can either work more cottages or run more specialists.

Biology is better farming wise because of the +1 food and the ablity to build them without a river or irrigation, but civil service also has bureaucracy with it. I tend to find with irrigation that I end up with a very long pointless line of farms going from a river halfway round my empire to get to a starving city of the other side :D
