It's a lowly lawyer, unless the conversation was recorded he can simply brush it off. Also he can always say he forgot and then countersue for having been bugged. Him being bugged would only feed his supporters to rally around him, and Fox news will end up making everyone forget what it really was about and focus primarily on the bugging.

This is a nothing burger plain and simple. This lawyer would have to be a five star general or something in order for people to even look twice.

He was a Trump WH lawyer and will testify under oath. Trump will take the fifth. Part of Trump's problem is that he then returned a bunch of documents but not all. So, he has established that he knew they were not his. By keeping and hiding the rest he demonstrated his obstruction.

His rabid followers will rant and rave, but ultimately they are the nothing burger. On their own they are too few. And if you've been paying attention, WSJ, FoxNews and Murdoch is moving away from Trump. An indictment is coming.

Murdoch does not have special privileges, nor is he an insider to what's going on legally. It would be extremely illegal if the DOJ or whatever was leaking this kind of stuff to specialized clients.

Therefore it's anyone's guess as to what will actually happen. However an indictment means nothing, you have to be convicted to receive any real punishment. And punishment is what most people begging for an indictment want, but it's still nevertheless a long process afterward and it can still go the other way in Trump's favor. It ain't over till the fat lady sings.

If I refuse to pay my unjust speeding ticket, the eventual result is ARMED ROBBERY, given that the state has a monopoly on violence, but jumping from speeding tickets to ARMED ROBBERS ARE COMING TO SHOOT YOU in a discussion about speeding tickets is inane.

there actually are legal thresholds after which a citizen is allowed to forcibly resist police. the state does not have a true monopoly on violence in usa, per constitution.

for some reason, this does not include no-charge "forfeiture" of cash, despite that it is literally armed robbery.

note that first post that started this chain advocated seizure of land and a tremendous number of high value associated assets, with no mention of compensation:

executive order indicating that Mar-a-Lago was called the "Winter White House" so many times, that ownership of the property has passed to the federal government. Evict Trump. Hold a garage sale selling all the tacky decorations at bargain prices. Rummage the place for documents. Raze the place and build an actual replica of the White House.

i can't envision a world where this a) happens b) victim doesn't agree to it and c) government does not then act on it forcibly (eviction implies some force or threat thereof). if government gets to c in that sequence, it is legally justified to meet it with bullets. it's one of the principles on which the usa was founded. not only could this be met with bullets, government behavior going to that extent creates a basis for self-defense, one that if upheld contributes against further abuses. the presently ridiculous anti-government right wing groups right now would instead be justified in their assertions under this bizarre hypothetical. like, if biden actually did this then the "oathkeepers" or whatever would resemble a legit organization if trying to overthrow him.

i get that it was a joke, and don't anticipate the biden administration openly inviting legitimate armed resistance, rather than letting police/fbi "legally" steal property at scale and try to maintain a semblance of legal credibility.

The fecal matter is growing in depth around the guy who lost in 2020. On Tuesday the Special Master nominated by the Cheeto's own lawyers lambasted those same lawyers for offering no proof basically in their entire suit. Today, the New York State Attorney General filed a civil case against the X-guy's organization, his Unstable Nongeniusness, his three mutant offspring, and two top officials on 200+ allegations of commercial fraud. The AG is seeking a minimum fine of $250 billion and barring them from business operations in the state. Plus, Fulton County in Atlanta, GA, has a grand jury close to issuing indictments after an investigation into election tampering by Doofus McTraitor and friends.

Oh, and the NY AG referred her case to the IRS and the DOJ for tax fraud.

And there's those little FBI investigations into stolen secret documents and a plot to overthrow the government.

It will surprise no one that the Constitution contains no such provision. The Declaration does mention a right to revolution but no one afaik claims that is an actual legal right, it is a moral right.
