[GS] Feature Overview video

This looks very cool

There is a "train astronauts" project

Edit: launch mars colony is also new

Edit: train astronauts takes only 2 turns, so I suppose it is required more than once.

Nice hint on the changes to the SV. I wonder if this is in addition to the 3 modules we have to launch in the current game. So now, after we launch the 3 modules, we also have to "train astronauts" and do the "launch mars colony"? Or does this replace the 3 modules?

Those are the GDR's (Giant Death Robots) that we saw in a previous livestream. They are the new uber powerful late game unit designed to help you break a stalemate and finish your domination victory.

No hints in the tech tree/city screens towards the old 3 mars projects, so I think they get replaced. Maybe you need the mars colony and then train astronauts who don't have a 100% success chance?

There are a lot of passage-blocking ice tiles in that video. If they changed the map script to do this intentionally with the idea of global warming eventually clearing paths for us, I hope they considered that some players will be playing with environmental change turned down or off. The video reinforces my desire for an icebreaker civilian unit.

I would be happy if they got rid of the 3 mars projects. They could be kinda tedious to do. Sounds like training astronauts (with a possibility of failure) and then launching a mars colony would be great.

The not having a 100% chance would be great, I think. What if spies have something to do with it and the spaceship explodes in mid air or something. That would be a World Congress topic of discussion and trying to find out who did through spy work as well. Ok, I’m getting carried away.

A lot of new info in this video. More Future era Techs and Civics have been revealed.

The Carbon Recapture projects is another buff to Industrial Zones, it grants 30 Diplomatic Favour. Though it costs a awful lot of turns to complete.

I think not having 100% success chance was in at least one earlier civ game (III?), but you could just invest more into space ship parts to get to 100%.

So I wonder of Royal society government plaza building is getting reworked. This seems like it would be the go to government building. With so many projects to run, this will come in handy.

Someone Called That

I'm surprised to see another American NW in the game. Not my first choice, but it's fine.

We saw on an earlier livestream that the 3 Mars projects are combined into 1, but then there is an Exoplanet project.

Geographic location aside though, it's just as "wondrous" as most things that would go in that spot (with the glaring exception of the Grand Canyon ofc).
