On 2:14 we can see climate change. Rise of sea level? If yes, does it has influence on other tiles? For example, global heating can turn tundra into grassland? Or rise of sea level can destroy wonder or city?

tiles do not flip, this is confirmed. A desert is always a desert, and tundra is always a tundra. Though I believe ice tiles can go away, haven't actually seen that though. Wonders cannot be destroyed, though perhaps flooded? I would imagine you still get the wonder effects though. Districts can be flooded, and will be unusable in that state until you get flood barriers up and then repair the district.

If that's the case... what's the end goal of the Science Victory for GS? Alpha Centauri again? If you get the chance to build a Mars Colony wouldn't that mean you actually have to build a rocket and send someone there as a pre-requisite?

I hope this gives them ideas on how to implement diseases for the next expansion (Which I hope they do. I need my Maya and Italy! :gripe:)

I think this is the general idea. You're describing the representational form. I'm a bit partial to the delegate/liquid form, but all of them are really far off and would probably be tested on a smaller scale first.

I think the idea of Corporate Libertarianism comes from David Korten's book "When Corporations Rule the World." The idea is that it is a government that is anti-democratic in the sense that term meant to the Ancient Greeks (roughly equivalent to the 19th century term "populist" and even more roughly equivalent to the use of that term today). It's the way he saw the world trending. Private property is protected, but to an extreme--the rights of property are protected from any sort of public accountability. This probably strikes some as dystopian, but I'm sure Digital Democracy would strike others as dystopian as well.

I remember seeing an Exoplanet Expedition that is presumably in a Future Era Tech.

I second the idea of introducing diseases along with Italy and the Maya in a third exp. I would pay 30 dollars for just these, but I would take more too.:mischief:

Don't we have another Tier 4 government besides Digital Democracy and Corporate Libertarianism?

So where does that leave the original vision for the Science Victory as "realistic"? Are we going (back) to Alpha Centauri?

It's not like colonizing Mars was particularly realistic, either. :p

Of course, how else are we going to get SMAC 2 in a few years? :mischief:

I'm not sure we can ever overcome the physiological challenges of long term space explorations, they seem pretty insurmountable. I can believe we can get humans on Mars, but it would be a one way mission, they won't be coming back.

A cloud habitat on Venus seems more plausible than a Martian colony, but neither is going to happen in the foreseeable future--both because the technology is lacking and because neither colony would have any practical benefit and only limited scientific benefit over unmanned exploration.

Now I know what I will be playing first on GS. The scenario it is. And I never felt any strong will to play scenarios before.

The ski resort, is that a district or improvement?

Synthetic Technocracy. I know what a technocracy is, but not the synthetic part. Google search comes up with 19th century Dutch ideas that are behind a paywall.

Its full fledged participatory democracy via online voting-probably a system where the bulk of decisions are made via online referenda/plebiscites.
