More reviews needed...maybe recruit people who have played ALOT of scenarios already (some of the scenarios reviewed are ancient!)

Kitten, ANYONE who wants to can submit a review.

Just download the form, and submit it, and it will be posted.

I like the Scenario Reviews. They are helpful in spotlighting scenarios I might have ignored before, like Underdark. Kobayashi's review made me want to play that scenario and I was not disappointed. We just need to get more out there.

Although i dont ever play any of the scenarios i enjoy going to the review section to see all the new reviews and scenarios'. I really like the design

nice job AoA!(and everybody else who did something)

The review section is a great addition to this site. The reviews are fair, and fill the gap left by the demise of the Scenario Leauge.

However, I disagree with SunTzu's claim that
"All scenarios need sounds". Personally, I find that sounds get irritating and slow the game down. Still, there arn't all that many marks riding on sounds, so I this isn't that big a problem

There is quite a few points devoted to sound and I think sound is important. Its not as important as graphics (you can't have a scenario with no graphics but only sounds - or can you? hmmm...) but you will never get a high score with no sound. That is also one of the main failings of the Star Contact scenario I reviewed.

That's not to say a scenario with no sound is no good (like Ranging Dragon). Its just that I can't shake the feeeling that there is a nagging incompleteness when I play something silent.

Too much of wrong/long/loud sounds is bad too....then I turn down the volume.

Mr Temba (now retired) was one of the first Golden Fleece receipients. This was his greatest work and I thought it a shame that everyone I came into contact with had never heard of it.

I agree with all who say the review section is great

Good work!

Some thoughts: perhaps you could make this thread a "sticky thread" to get feedback continiously (and remind people to send in reviews

).

To the reviews, they should - in my eyes - contain more real text. Most of them do so, but I saw one or two which consisted mainly of the standard reviewing form plus the score for each question. Some more explanations would be fine.

And perhaps very good reviews should have influence on the future scenario hall of fame nominations/winners.

BTW, I agree with SunTzu here, since sounds can easily turned off if one doesn´t like them, but yes, it is not that big problem.

How can I be a scenario reviewer??

------------------
All empires fall. You just have to know where to push.

Overall, I think the scenario review format is outstanding. One small gripe, however. All scores should be out of the same total score (some are out of 30, others are out of 36).

Did you get my review, I gave it to thunderfall, in an e-mail.

"All empires fall. You just have to know where to push." -Imperial Guard Commander

"The hand of man can hold the universe in its palme, if only it can learn to unclench its fist" -Alpheus Togra

Well Shamrock, those 36'ers were the first, and we didn't know that we should strike 1 point from all.

All future reviews will be 30'ies.

Our review form is the stupidest review form i've ever seen. I mean come on! You give us 36 questions but tell us to only grade out of 30 points!
Its pretty damn stupid. Either make 30 questions and a max of 30 points or keep it at 36 with a max of 36points its not that hard.

In the future all reviews will be rated on a scale of 30. If it's not, I'll convert the scores.

I talked to AoA about the possibility of using a percentage rating for the final score instead. For example, the final score 21/30 is equivalent to 70%. I think it makes more sense to use percentage to rate scenarios.

Full credit to Morten Blaabjerg who reviewed Carl Fritz's Brown Man's Burden scenario...

The review was spot on...though personnally I like the terrain graphics alot more than I thing Morten did...

I think the percentage thing is probably the best thing to do. It's something I was thinking about as well, but just forgot to propose.
