Thanks to Thunderfall's generous offer to host a FfH specific front end for us we have been able to put up a Fall from Heaven wedpage. Hexagonian made a really amazing style for the page so it looks great. and Nikis-Knight has already started writing up information for it.

The website will serve as a common place for major FfH information. To be honest its really targeted more for casual and first time players than it is for the folks that spend time here reading the forum.

I also don't want to use it to hold mechanic information, thats what the wiki is for and it will be a much better source. It should just be a godd starting point and provide links to more valuable information.

You can check it out here: http://www.civfanatics.com/ffh

Let us know what you think, its definitly a work in progress.

Looks pretty sweet from first impressions. There are a few minor problems that I noticed right off:

1. The links page doesn't have a menu bar, so you can't navigate to other parts of the site.

2. There is a small bar of color that reaches out from the left, somewhat jarring.

Other than that, it looks pretty good. I like it.

Not bad, not bad at all. Very good, even!

A few suggestions from what I've noticed so far, both quite minor:

- Create a page in the same style as the rest for the "download" button to lead to, then link to the real download page from there. Getting tossed somewhere completely different from one of the side menu links is a bit frightening.

- Describe Varn Gosam as 'one of the Svartalfar' or somesuch, rather than "A Svartalfar elf", which looks odd. (At least to those of us familiar with nordic languages, where it reads as "A black-elf elf", more or less).

Thanks, I fixed the links page. I have no idea how to get rid of that bar of color (and even more confusing it doesnt appear on the civilizations page). But Im trying to figure something out. Im not an HTML wizard by any stretch of the imagination so Im learning all this stuff fresh.

Great news, Congrats!

The grey/black line looks like it's just a format difference:

Spoiler Code :

Try changing:
<td style="vertical-align: top; width: 183px; height: 4000px; background-color: rgb(33, 22, 16); color: rgb(255, 255, 255);" rowspan="1" colspan="1">
<font size="-1">
&nbsp; A sudden cold stroke the village...
</font>
</td>

to:
<td style="vertical-align: top; width: 183px; height: 4000px; background-color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" rowspan="1" colspan="1">

<font size="-1">
<span style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">
&nbsp; A sudden cold stroke the village...
</span>
</font>
</td>

The second iteration is directly from the civilizations.shtml page

They color line is all fixed, its looking nice!

Looks great!

I really love that game-play video...

Constructive criticism:
- found a typo on the about page: "ambicious"
- I'm not a big fan of vertical menus that extend below the screen
- cannot navigate back to the index - is this intended?
- the text in the left side bar could use a (wider) margin

My first impressions:
- too white! there should be some grey background colour for all at least otherwise it will bur my eyes out if I open if in a dark room

- can the buttons for the menu be smaller? I am watching it now at work under 1024x768 but there are still ppl who watch it under smaller resolutions [like me at home]

- the upper left corner main logo is to big, again think of ppl with lesser resolutions

It's a very nice site, I like it!

Now for the criticism :P
Typo on the About FfH page: it should be Dungeons and Dragons, right?

Okay, all the fixes should be in (incidently you can click on the masthead on any of the pages to go back to the main page). The only thing I can't figure out how to do is put some margins on the "tales of erebus" column. Still working on that one. I can't apply cell padding to the top of the cell because I need to color to run together with that in the masthead, i just need a left and right cell padding.

Yay, Rise up and Rule has been replaced.

Looking good Kael. :thumbsup:

Yeah, I told Hex your feedback and he was good enough to remake the mastheads.

After looking at it, I agree...can we have less space between the buttons and push everything up?

The best way to do that would be to either scale the graphics, or provide 2 different sizes for them, one to use on 1024 and lower resolutions and one for higher than 1024 resolutions.

Is it that's why Zezereth has put on his competition?

Dont exactly know what you mean with "that", but I started the competition just for everyones enjoyment and to motivate people to contribute some Art and visual teasers for new players. (And long time goal is to motivate people creating compositions/wallpapers or even comic strips in the style of the example I placed beneath the contest post.)
So it was not directly related to the Webpage, hexagonian is responsible for the art there.

FWIW, that "stroke" in the bit of html posted above should surely read "struck".

One comment--are there any cool graphics we can add to the credits page? Just like there's a lot of whtie space on that page.

I have a real life picture of nikis-knight we could use.
