These are the two world maps from the game Final Fantasy 6 made by Square Enix. They're both 64x64 tiles and have randomized resources, which requires Beyond the Sword. Due to the terrain on the maps and the way the game places aluminum, it will be very limited in the world of balance and somewhat limited in world of ruin. So Aluminum inc. may actually sway the game for someone if the game goes that long, crazy as it sounds. World of Balance: http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=7550 World of Ruin http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=7551 The screen shots are old. The both maps have a few short rivers and many more oasis' around so irrigation isn't so rare.
I wasn't aware there was a World of Balance map for Civ4, although I've seen it for Civ2 and 3, but it will be the same in the sense that I based it on the same source material that other people have, but I've probably interpreted things differently.
Great maps, I've taken the liberty of adding Civs and barbs to the map, for those that prefer them, I've given you full credit for creating the map. http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=7669 WoB 14 civs WoR 10 civs.
I've added a few more oasis' and rivers to both maps to make farming possible in more places, and the tile that would be Mobliz in the world of ruin is a flood plains since in FF6 it is flooded. There weren't very many rivers on the maps of FF6 but I noticed that once you enter cities half of them have rivers in them so I added some in the area of the city somewhat in the shape and directions found in the city in what little space I had. These maps should work with Fall from Heaven now although it sometimes crashes but creates an initial save.
*sigh* Could anyone reupload the edited map I made, civfanatics seems to of lost it, and I don't have it anymore either (reformat).
