Final stages of World Cup Qualification rounds

Well, I guess the Germans could refurbish some of their players in order to make them defenders… is it worth that much?

There'll be groups of death for sure with the current seedings. Argentina-Netherlands-England-Japan FTW.

And Jogi signs an extension until 2016...huge mistake, Germany. This guy has proven that he's unable to lead Germany to any titles.

And everyone thought that Jogi Low what the mastermind behind Jurgen Klinsmann's success.

In other news, the United States qualify into the World Cup with a first place finish in CONCACAF thanks largely to their head coach....

And the Mexican circus continues; Vucetich is fired as coach, and now they plan on getting Miguel Herrera, coach of Club América (current Mexican champions) on board. They are even talking about giving citizenship to several players and make América the base of the team that will play NZ in a month.

Portugal v Sweden
Ukraine v France
Greece v Romania
Iceland v Croatia

Is the draw. Disappointing how Portugal do not meet France but you cannot have it all :P

Two of the biggest egos in thsi sport will face each other. Heh-heh.

I have to go with Ronaldo, no Ibrahimovic. Well, actually, I guess I can go on without them both at the world cup. In any case though, the boulevard press will be better without them both unless of course they decide to comment in anyways...

I'd predict Portugal to go through which would be kind of a shame since they should not need the playoffs - what is it now - thrice in a row?

Other games: France - Romania - Iceland (I judge the Croatians as a team who would underestimate a team such as Iceland; also, they've proven that they can score late in a game...)

On paper Croatia should win that tie but they have just lost their coach after losing to Scotland of all teams! They are vulnerable. If Iceland qualify the hipster baton will pass to them from Bosnia.

Sweden is a dangerous team. Even without Ibra, they scored 3 goals against Germany. True, the German defense is a mess, but the Swedes have the firepower to knock Portugal out. The return leg will be in Sweden, so that gives them some sort of advantage.

4-4 and 3-5 against Germany. Pretty crazy scores :) They've obviously got the chance against Portugal, but it's pretty slim. The defence is in a terrible shape. Ronaldo will have a much easier job compared to what Zlatan will face.

Iceland might become the Nordics only representative.

The hipster baton? Why that name?

You know those football fans who don't watch Premier League or their own national home league. The guys who weep for the great 1950s side the Magnificant Magyars; who every World Cup tell us that there is some great Eastern European/African team that will take the world by storm (in this case Bosnia). A usual marker is an affection for Borussia Dortmund.

They talk about obscure footballers from obscure countries basically and hype'em up to be really good.

Oh I found this it looks like a good guide to it (some of it is of course tongue in cheek).

Man, the Magnificent Magyars were one of the best teams in football history.

Poland hasn't been tipped to win the WC ever.

A pity that either Greece or Romania will go through.

I can be rid of wannabe Ronaldo's arrogance, so that's balanced stuff.
