@Lord_Vetinari: Is that true about Cleese?

Yup, altough I was a little off on the years, apparently his father changed it in 1915, so John never had to go by "John Cheese"

So who is this enigmatic Python? John Marwood Cleese was born to Reginald Francis Cleese, an insurance salesman, and Muriel Cross on 27th October 1939 in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. His name might have very well have been John Cheese, after his grandfather John Edwin Cheese. But for some reason, Reginald changed his name from Cheese to Cleese when he joined the army in 1915. That clinched Cleese for Cheese's children.

Found it here

Mine is quite uncommon: 300th most common male name, 0.045% of men in the US or 55125 total. Last name it only lists as 'rare', which is quite true in the US. (Though in other countries it takes up several pages of the phone book.) The combination is unique to me and 2 others, AFAIK.
