Firaxis and Civ 6 at Pax West on Saturday 3rd of September

I just checked and didn't see any posts from Eagle stating that (on these boards, anyway). Regardless, they did list him on the panel, so if he wasn't there, that is a problem.

I told him privately. A few days ago the PAX event listing removed Ed from the panel.

That's really random for the producer and lead designer to not be at the panel.
But it wouldn't be too surprising for them to be too busy to be at a panel so soon before launch. Not saying that that is the reason, just that there's at least one boring and unsurprising explanation.

So, was there nobody on these boards that was at the panel? Or was there stone sort of NDA about what was said there?

Both?

There was some sort of follow up interview with Sarah afterwards that was posted. I saw some of it in the Kongo thread.

It's a bit strange that we have no other info on what else was discussed at the Panel other than the Kongo reveal.

Kongo seems powerful-ish. The inability to make Holy Sites means they can't make their own religion except via Stonehenge, it seems, and their leader ability isn't as religiously oriented as I expected given the leader choice. Free apostles is hardly powerful. Gandhi seems more of a religious victory oriented leader to me.

Not if the game development is behind schedule which is what it felt like to me in many videos we've seen (just my feeling).

I preffer them trying to do their best for release.

Well... I am certain that the game is only a couple of weeks from going gold. By the 1st at the latest. They have to have it ready for shipment to B&M stores to have it on the 21st. And they have to get the review copies out to the press and ensure that they have enough time to thoroughly play through for a "proper" review.

So these next few weeks will be crunch time with long hours and longer days.

Did anyone catch that Sarah said that Kongo gets double GP points per turn for select Great Persons? We knew that Kongo got extra GP points but I am not sure we knew it was double. That sounds wonderfully powerful.
Not as powerful early on as getting gratis GA and GM points from turn one, though...

Not really. Going for a religious victory would actually be counterintuitive to Gandhi's bonuses from having a multitude of religions in his civilization. In fact, neither Mvemba nor Gandhi really have much incentive for founding a religion at all. So far, the only religious-victory-oriented civ we've seen is Spain, which is why I still hold out hope that both Arabia and Sumer are religious. Arabia may be a trade/religion/militant civ, and Sumer a culture/infrastructure/religious civ. At least, that's my hope.

I'm glad for the 100% bonus instead of free points. I prefer that Kongo at least has to put the bare minimum effort in to start beating everyone to great merchants/artists instead of just doing it with no effort at first.

I disagree, because India gets faith bonuses for each civ not at war with India that has founded a civ. That extra faith per turn can easily be spent on faith units to wage religious combat and convert the world.

Kongo, religion-wise, only gets free apostles for doing two things. That's it. Which is strange given how religion-focused and education-focused Afonso I was.

Arabia might get a religion defensive bonus of some sort, sure. I doubt Sumeria will get a religion bonus though. Maybe a faith building, but they weren't exactly known for a religion victory in history. I think culture or domination might be their goal. (Babylon, when added, will likely be a science victory civ again given their astrological prowess).

Why? She just seems genuinely excited. That's nice to see.

Agreed. She seems really happy playing Civ VI and is happy to share her experiences. :)
