First attempt at a Mod: Failure

I decided it was about time to start making some additions to Civ IV, and I've been combing through the message boards for a week now. I finally attempted my first mod, adding the Hitler Leader Head. I followed the instructions here for installing the leader head, and I'm not having any luck.

When I go to the advanced, load mods, menu... my mod isn't even an option. I have no idea what I did wrong, and I'm not even sure where to start.

Any ideas?

Where did you place your mod files?
Under Documents\My Games\BtS\Mods or under C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Civ4\BtS\Mods?

The_J, you, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Thanks for moving my original post, and thanks for the answer. Your post made me realize that I placed the mod in:

Firaxis Games/Civ 4 Gold/Mods

Instead of in:

Firaxis Games/Civ 4 Gold/BtS/Mods

Now I feel like an idiot, but thanks for the help! I'm going to give it a shot a little later.
