First settlement

Is it better to settle right when the game starts,or to look around for a great spot?

The rule of thumb is to settle right away. Every turn you wait you give the AI a head start on production.

Ok, thats kinda what i was thinking but i didn't know if the benefits of having an amazing spot made up for it.

I normally try to found it in the first to second turn, third at the latest. If you're not familiar with good city placement strategies you'll be much better off just to found where you start, the CPU usually puts your settler is a decent city site.
