I have complained about this in General and apparently there is no way to fix it as a player so i am calling on the developers to patch it.
I like to play Culture games but every game is ruined by the computer which decides to assign scientists or priets in one or more of my cities for no reason. This pollutes my GP pool and I quit the game every time. Since iut happen every game I am going to uninstall Civ 4 until it's fixed.
I am sad about this because it's my favourite game at the moment but unplayable. I have tried turning off all automation in every city but i still does it. So not only do I have to contend with the challenge of playing the AI I have to contend with the program making irreversible decisions for me which put me at a disadvantage.
I can't believe that the developers would expect me to have check every city every turn just to make sure it hasn't assigned a specialist that I don't want. I have tried doing that and I change it in 2 cities and 2 turns later it reassigns them again. this makes the game tedious and unplayable. A great game ruined by a little flaw.
Given the number of people who complain about it, even in guides by top players, I am surprised they haven't patched it. Maybe they have and someone could direct me to it so I can start playing again.
