Fixed Locations?

Just got the game today, its great apart from one small bugbear.

How do you start the Earth scenario at that civs traditional starting location?

i.e. if you are playing the Romans you'd start at where present day rome is now.

I tried clicking on culturally linked starting locations on the Game Preferences box, but that doesnt seem to do anything...

Unfotunately, on the world map provided with the game, Italy is barely large enough to support one city. I would download a better one.

Any recomended earth maps?

Also, is it possible to fix the locations you start at?

There are some maps on the main page of this site. I don't know if you can assign what civ starts where, only which spots a civ can start in.
