Several civs now have math and are willing to sell it. Should we purchase this tech? We currently have 12g and are making 11gpt at 8.1.1 (tax/sci/lux). The selling prices are listed below. Note that some civs have also learned map making and philosophy but will not sell. Also note that the Aztecs have math and we may be able to get it from them for peace later on.

Aztecs math and philosophy for peace?
    Babylon math (10gpt-3g)
    China math (9gpt, 3g)
Egypt math (9gpt, 9g) and philosophy
    England math (9gpt, 9g)
    Greece math (9gpt, 9g)
    India math (9gpt)
    Iroquois math (9gpt, 3g)
    Japan math (10gpt-3g)
    Persia math (10gpt-3g) and philosophy
Rome math (10gpt-3g) and map making
    Russia math (10gpt-3g)

This poll wil be open for one day. There was no prior discussion.

The price is a bit high right now. Giving that much gold per turn will limit our war options. Get it from the Aztecs in a peace deal or wait until we have better cash on hand.

Question- what is the group opinion on backstabbing?
I hate to say I do it all the time...
If we were to sue for peace and extort tech, would we go and destroy them anyway?

20 turns later, sure. There would be fierce resistance for violating a treaty though.

I say we take it from the Aztecs at the negotiating table once we've managed to drag Monty to it in chains ;)

SAaM: I would be against breaking a peace treaty for the 20 turns after signing it, because of the associated rep hit. However after that they'd represent fair game in my eyes :D

I was going to say that I agree with the President and Shaitan, but looking at the poll results, that's apparent.

I say we wait until we can pay for it up front. Plus, by that time, the Aztecs may be forced to part with it for free.;)

The price is too steep for a tech that provides us with no immediate benefit.

I also say wait for peace.

That's how it normally happens when a poll closes itself. This can also be done by a moderator manually.
