Font not found (error code 13)

I am trying to run conquests on a computer using a non-English version of Windows (Korean). When I try to start it up I get the error message Font not found (error code 13!). I believe this is because the True Type font in the package is automatically modified to be compatible with the Korean character set and this modification makes it incompatible with C3C. "Virgin" civilization works just fine. Does anyone have any ideas of a work-around or a fix aside from installing English Windows on my computer. Any help in desperately needed.

Okay,
So I had an idea on the way to work today but I don't know if it is technically possible. Can read-only files be copied? If so, maybe someone could send me the Lsans True Type file that they have previously marked read-only. That way, I hope, the computer won't be able to modify it to be Korean compatible. Anyone know if this could work?

Read only files can be copied - they just can't be modified.

As for someone posting you their copy of the font, unfortunately (believe it or not), Lucida Sans is a commercial font - not a free one. Therefore, you can't (legally) ddistribute it to someone else, and so no-one will be able to send it to you via this site.

As a random thought, have you tried searching for it on the Civ CD ROM? If it is on there, it will be read-only by definition.

Also, try asking atari, and put a raise this as a bug in the Conquest bug forum.

Thanks for the response. I guess I'll just have to try to find a copy of English windows to install on my computer if I want to play the game.

Before you do that, I would suggest you talk to Atari - see if they can offer any insights.

I have also had this problem with a few other games including PTW and Hearts of Iron. I will talk to Atari though, thanks.

I've been using Civ 3 for quite sometime and never had any trouble. I now decide to play and POW error code 13 for some reason I'm not sure. I've tried moving LSANS but it doesn't allow me...windows vista....Can anyone help me with this? I've tried everything I found in the forums to resolve this but to no avail.

Uninstall the game and reinstall.

just tried to uninstall and install and once again i have this problem ... font error code 13 .. i dont understand what to do.. can someone help me ?
