football thread No11

I wouldn't worry too much. The system now means eight group-stage matches and they can just win a couple of the other four and get into the second round anyway because the best 24/36 are still in the competition.

You're not that familiar with Real Madrid, are you?

That's a lot of the real history of the club's performances. Usually they hire some great players who somehow kick back into gear and/or they simply just begin bribing referees left and right with UEFA turning a benevolent blind eye.

WC qualifiers again!

Wow! Wicked stuff!

On topic; City falling apart. Raise your hand if you saw 5 losses in a row coming.

Gotcha on that one, sorry.

Thoroughly enjoying City's tumble!

Pluss Tromsø avoided relegation. Nice. But omg if next season starts off just as bad I'm out.

Tumble? What tumble? They're on a one-match unbeaten streak already.

Has Guardiola gone completely insane?

The Brasileirão is about to end and with great hilarity.

Seven years ago, a regional club headed by Argentina's FA's treasurer was lost somewhere in the maze of regional tournaments. Today, that club is playing in the first division (after relegation was cancelled a couple of times to help it) and it has stolen the Argentinian cup tie by tie, with refereeing worthy of Chelski early during Abramovich's tenure, Maradona in '86 or Italy in Mafia times. Ave, campio, latrocinati te salutamos!

Oh, and btw Saudi Arabia's stadia have been certified for the 2034 World Cup, even though they haven't been built.
