I read that last night from a freaking comment on the Guardian under a Bale article. Did that Sun journalist steal it from that? Maybe it was an easy guess considering Di Maria and Contraeo have uncertain futures.

I admire the tenacity of Bale's Real pursuit. In other news Christian Benitez dies suddenly on moving to Qatar. I remember Christian was a spirited player, his death is a shame, and I cant help but think religion was related.

Bale will need to be as good as last season, every season to even approach €100m. Spurs should stop messing about and take the cash.

RIP Chucho Benítez... A heavy loss for Ecuador and football overall.

You should've heard the avalanche of possible explanations for the wife offered here on the radio.
    'Ronaldo framed me'
'This is not what it looks like'
'It's her job, I had to help her'
    etc. etc.

The pic was taken at a wild party organised by Cristiano Ronaldo in Las Vegas. :groucho:

    Messi

Nope, it was the Brazilian one, IIRC.
Why would CR7 invite Messi to a party?

    Tax Fraud?

(And yes Uli seems guilty of it too - but at least he self-reported his fraud :p)

Hey, he wouldn't be a real football star if he wasn't a bad guy.

I was, too - the previous one I saw live but TV isn't too bad of an option either.

In general entertaining matches though I only saw Finland's matches & semi-finals as whole. Refreshingly different from men's game with highly improved overall quality in the past few decades.
Few things just don't change - Germany wins & to be a German goalie one has to have a close encounter with a moving truck.

^That's probably most widely quoted phrase regarding football locally as well :)

I don't think there is another country in the world even close to the quality of German keepers, now, in the past, or ever will in the future
