Ha ha! You're right. Maybe if Civ 5 comes out in 20 years, it would be more acceptable.

Patton was never the American leader! Replace Patton with Reagan. If it's been long enough for Hollywood to come out with 9/11 movies of all sorts, it's been long enough to recognize Ronald Reagan (at least will be by the time Civ5 comes)

Yeah, but it will never happen. I get the impression of a European/leftist bias in the game. Nothing huge, but it's there.

It goes without saying that Ronald Reagan is not everybody's hero.

Dutchking wants Patton to be an American leader, not me! The same is true with Poland although there TheLastOne36 (negatively?) influenced me there. I could replace Poland with Australia though.

In any case, I haven't seen too much complaining over my "Bantu" civ, I thought there would be much more!

I don't want to inlcude America or Japan in Civ5; that's why I say "fine!" in parentheses next to them.

Well, to be honest, according to the National Geographic Almanac of World History, Tamerlane wasn't a Mongol but "a Turk who emulated their methods". If you believe that Tamerlane should be a Mongolian leader, than you REALLY think that Napoleon should be a Roman or Chinese leader.

You should have also caught the fact that I made Cleopatra a Greek leader. She was actually more Greek than Egyptian ("Cleopatra" must be a Macedonian name, as it was also the name of the mother of Alexander the Great). If you don't agree with me, then you need to ask yourself why Kublai Khan is a Mongolian leader instead of a Chinese leader.

I don't think Tamurlane should be included in Civ5 at all. If anything he should be a Mongolian leader (he saw himself as a Mongol and claimed descent from Genghis Khan, never mind his true lineage). But really he's in a class of his own. Then again, you could create a "Timurid Empire" (like how Firaxis added the HRE to accomodate Charlemagne).

Does nationality matter? Cleopatra didn't rule Greece, but Egypt (and several client states and Mark Anthony, who admittedly ruled Greece, but that's not the point). Her name is Greek, her linage is Greek, but she ruled Egypt, so she's an Egyptian leader.

Kublai Khan was the Great Khan of Mongolia first, Emperor of China second, so he's a Mongolian leader.
