Freeze on title screen

Saw at least one other person mention this but have seen no threads about it.

No matter what, I the graphics lock up in the title screen as I start navigating the menu. Last night, once, they didn't. I had untweaked my graphics card and assumed it was just really finicky. Unfortunately, that was a red herring. Stock settings, I still can not get past the title screen (despite playing for 2.5 hours in the one session.)

It is worth nothing only the graphics freeze. Sound continues and if I do anything that interacts with screen elements, their sound plays. Mouse moves too.

Update:
I messed around with my Nvidia control panel settings, and now in two separate tests (including a very lengthy involved one) do not freeze in the title screen. YMMV, I have errands to run so cannot test further. N.B. I am also running the CivVI game-ready drivers released today - you may have to download them manually. That alone didn't fix it.
