hello,

first of all I must apologize for my poor english but I'm writing from the " french " part of Belgium...

my problem is the following : I own CIV II Gold for Mac and I like it a lot but I've seen the wonderful scenarios here on your website and I'd like to play with them !
so I plan to buy an old PC and download loads of scenarios but first, I've got to find a PC version of the game, so (this is the point) what do you think I should buy :
1° CIV II Multiplayer Gold Hasbro (very hard to find and expensive)
2° CIV II + expansions
3° CIV II Atari (but will the downloaded scenarios be ok with that ? )
4° CIV II (Atari or the classic one) + the " upgrader " that I can find here to transform it into the Gold version

thanks a lot for your advice

olivier

Did you try to download a scenario already? I've never heard of Mac/Windows versions for CivII scenario files!

no no
in fact, I'm willing to download PC scenarios to play on a PC (that I still 've got to buy...) but, as I have the Mac version of the game (MGE) I wanted to find the PC version of it and was wondering which version (of the game) to choose...
(I might have found a solution since I bought yesterday a European version (PAL) of the game - multiplayer gold edition 1999 windows xp : I hope that with this, I'll be able to download and play the PC scenarios ! )

Well, in fact I have the Mac version of MGE, with all the original scenarios on it
(you know : Jules Verne, Independence, Atlantis, etc) but now, I'd like to play with the scenarios that can be downloaded on the net, and most of those scenarios (Pitt, Quebec, Age of Piracy, etc) seems to be " for PC only " : am I wrong ?

Does anyone know if the Civ II game in the Civilization Chronicles (that has all of the civ games) is able to be operated with Windows Vista? I don't want to purchase the set and find out that the Civ II can not operate on my new system. (I can not get my original version to operate even with a patch).

Is the Vista version your're referring to the 32 or 64-bits version? For sure the 64-bit Vista will not run Civ II.

Hello. I'm a longtime fan of Civ 2. Currently, i've been running the Civ 2 MGE version on an updated old Mac Mini. I see there are tons of interesting-looking scenarios here available to download, and i'd very much like to download and play them. I started by downloading the Blitzkrieg 1942 v2.0 by Eivin A. Evensen. However, my computer isn't recognizing the scenario file as such. :(

I see in this thread that there might not be any difference between a scenario file for PC as opposed to a scenario file for Mac, which is frankly what i'd assumed in the first place. Is that incorrect? Do i need to run some sort of conversion on the Civ 2 scenario files from this site? Or have i likely fallen prey to some other mistake?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

ED: And very much appreciated! Please help!
