Hi
I would like to start game windowed/fullscreened same as I can lunch moded/unmoded.
I already tried parameters like: FullScreen=0, FullScreen="0", FullScreen=\0 but nothing works. Anybody know how make it works? Don't want to edit ini file, just a shourcut.

I also would like to suggest put a list of all possible civ4 exe file command line parameters into Civ4 info center section.

If you found this thread looking for command line options to force windowed mode. Here is Firaxis' info:
(from http://www.firaxis.com/games/game_detail.php?gameid=6&showcon=1)

Civ IV Command Line Options

mod=foo // specify the modname
multiple // allow multiple civ instances to run
ini=foo // specify the ini file
/altroot=foo // specify alternate root for save files
/FXSLOAD=foo // specify file to load

mod name (foo in the above example) does not need to be in quotes, even when it contains spaces.
so for the threads question, set mods and windowed state in a second .ini file and desktop shortcut loading it.

you could modify the .ini and set it to
ask

this option is by far the easiest....you will get a prompt each to you open civ

I'm having success with stating an alternative .ini file to use. Setting fullscreen to 0 or Ask in the default .ini worked for a number of times until Civ4 decides to change it back to 1 all on it's own.

I never had this problem in XP, only Win7. I'm wondering if there's a problem with civ not detecting c:\documents and settings\...blahblah...\CivilizationIV.ini every time now that it's c:\users\...blahblah...\CivilizationIV.ini

I know there are environment variables pointing to user documents location, it just seems that Civ4 forgets sometimes.
