I'm going to bust the rumor that Americans are stupid by stating that most people who frequent the Internet are Americans, and (assuming that every nation has a similar percentage of idiots) most idiots you find on the Internet will probably be American. The most surprising thing to me here is how people manage to enjoy surfing the web while having to endure a constant advertisement barrage.

Seriously, browsing without AdBlock is just painful, and I really can't think of any reason not to.

At least you've seen the ad and have a chance to click on it, when if you don't see it at all because of Adblock you can't click on it, even if you would've been interested.
