Copper. THE game breaking resource in 1895.
i got that in my current game. it was my first copper, 2010 AD or later. i'd run engineers in my capital from the very first turn to found Mining Inc with my first GE, so i was thrilled to get the copper. i play with advisor pop-ups on because they make me giggle, and this one sure did. it gave the usual "blah blah allows you to make strong melee units" message. thanks wise guy, but that really isn't a factor in this
future start game!
same game, check this out:
he built the Manhattan Project. the thing that lets everybody (not just yourself) build nukes. you need uranium to build nukes. he doesn't have any, but he knows i do, he tried to trade me for some before, and he's trying to again now, the turn after he finished MP. what was he thinking? he wanted a headstart on building his SDI for the nukes that he just gave me the ability to build? maybe he's sure i won't declare on him, since he's pleased with me, but he thinks the barbs might nuke him? the barbs which can't possibly show up since there's no land anywhere at all that still has fog of war on it, and that are forbidden from making nukes in the first place, those barbs. btw i did trade him uranium, the whole point of playing future start is to see what wars are like when we have the same exact techs. willem declared on me pre-nukes, but he fought like an idiot so he's dead now.
ps yes it's 2047 AD. i have time turned off since i knew it would take me a loooooong time to be ready to conquer the world *giggle*.
this is the first time i noticed that you get a production bonus on MP for having uranium. as if anybody would build it without uranium, but clearly it happens. the really scary thing is that hatty did the same exact thing, in a different future start game a couple of days ago!
