FusNES01: A Higher Consciousness

At any rate, it's not my method you're really using- I would not have people forget.

ah... i forgot you were the god of knowledge, and thus forgetting anything was bad in your books :p but some things are better left unknown, such as the elder gods. just think of arzen as a new elder god :)

OOC: Can we specify in our stories things like individual human empires?

Yes.

On another note, I have no time to work on this at all at the moment, or for quite some time. Orders are now due Wednesday rather than Friday. My apologies, but I have some things I need to get done.

The Chenvidian Gambit
The Tagrian Empire was founded at Tagria, just south of Darnang's main island. Darnang was for a little while not sure whether to strike them down for their impudence or congradulate them for their cleverness.

The ruler of Tagria had realised that the Army of Darnang were not allowed to strike back against the continent. Traditionally, respect for Darnang had been sufficent that the copper they were dependent on (not intentional- by a million to one chance, Darnang had actually created the Army of Darnang in the wrong spot) had been consistently supplied. Chenvid, King of Tagria, decided on otherwise.

If Tagria could conquer the three cities of Hanmesh, Darnang City (renamed in a blatant attempt to gain favor) and Imperial City (subtle enough Darnang actually liked it), they would be able to take control of all three major ports that supplied the copper- they could then threaten the army of Darnang into submission.

The overwhelming major power in the area was Tiakra, a city even more powerful thanks to it's Lance Cavalry, which made it able to conquer any city but the ports. Chenvid realised that no power in the region, not counting Darnang or the Army of Darnang, could defeat Tiakra in conventional war.

So he decided to try and manipulate the situation to create a Second Northern Campaign. In the first, Tiakra had tried and failed to take the northern cities, who had united together (with Tiagra) to repulse Tiakra, which was forced to withdraw.

The second would have the same result, but would allow Tiagra to be able to conquer a city by suprise. The plan was to have "merchant" ships hide men, who would attack at midnight and take the city. The other two would have to go along with it or they would all face defeat.

To get Tiakra to move north, Chenvid decided to fake his own death. His son offered allegiance to Tiakra in exchange for him givng an oath to defeat the northern states. They would use the Merchant Trick to take a city, then make a deal with the other two. After that, they would reveal the ruse.

The Tiakran King took his oath seriously enough that he continued the campaign even after the ruse was revealed, and Tiagra had it's first major port. Darnang at this stage almost got interested, though his lack of knowledge of what had previously happened meant he didn't bother watching.

Tiagra knew it would face a coalition of the other two states by this stage, but it's king was irrational, and decided to keep going for the mere reason he was already commited. To win, it would have to defeat the other two states.

As a matter of fact, it did. But the plan was not complete. Cutting off copper to the Army of Darnang was a major risk, greater then Tiagra had first anticipated. For it to suceed, Darnang would have to smile upon their cunning technicality.

Darnang looked at the little empire- it's plans all prepared for a conquest of his island. He sympathised with them- they had, after all, done their best to try and defeat the Army of Darnang itself, and build the largest Empire the world had ever seen.

Then he looked at their plan. So risky, so stupid. He took their leader, and threw him into the sea.

I already said it would go until Wednesday because I'm too busy to work on anything at the moment, so you should be fine. ;)

OOC: @Lord Iggy, is Szok still looking for Myrthin?

Also, this thread needs another story.;)

IC:
The Cheese Spirits/Demons

"Good, good", thought Myrthin to himself. His scheme to mess with the followers of Onuros was succeeding. The Cheese Spirits were scaring the followers of Onuros, and soon they were afraid to venture out of towns in groups of less than 3.'

"Hmmmmm, if I actually gave these Cheese Spirits weapons and magical powers, they could be a good weapon of war." And so the actual Cheese Demons were created, they now guard Myrthin's realm in times of emergency and danger, and are stored in a cold place under the ground of Myrthin's Realm.

Edit: OOC: Difference between Cheese Spirits and Demons. Cheese Spirits are harmless, while the Cheese Demons are allowed to kill and maim.

When will the update be?

A Lead at Last

Szok paced back and forth through the library, the mounting concerns over Myrthin's apparent disappearance still at the forefront of her mind. Any lead would be a useful-

At that moment, awareness of agents of Myrthin leap into the Knowledge God's mind. Breaking into a sprint, the childlike figure of Szok leapt, and the world shifted around her, snapping back into place around the island of the Tvari. A small animated construct, one of the 'Cheese Demons', stood just before her.

Just behind were two terrified islanders. Taking the creature's distraction, they fled off into the forest, quickly disappearing.

The demon shook its head, then grinned, yellow spikes springing out of its lanky, off-white figure.

"Ah, another visitor!" it exclaimed, "Just in time to eat! You've scared off my friends, but I suppose you'll do."

"I would advise against it. Bring me to Myrthin."

"I will. In pieces, love."

With that, the bizarre creature advanced. The child who was Szok extended her arms, two curved blades of glittering metal materializing. With two swings, the creature was staggering backwards, de-limbed and oozing. Szok's two weapons disappeared as they had arrived, and with a sweeping gesture, the two removed arms rose back into the air.

"Please, I'm not some mortal to eat, I am Szok- and somewhat disappointed that you didn't recognize a non-human aura. Now, could you take me to Myrthin?"

The demon's amorphous face shifted into an extended, fanged scowl, a forked tongue flicking outwards, and it nodded.

"Thank you."

Szok waved her arms, and the arms reattached.

"They're backwards, you witch!"

"I'm sure your master would be amused by your predicament. Now, once I have met Myrthin, your arms can go back to normal. Any more 'fun', and you'll be walking on your face."

The update is rather late- is it going to happen?

With hope, yes. I have gotten rather involved in some other projects lately, so it may not be up until Monday.

If it never happens, you have my apologies; in fact you can have all of them. However, I seriously doubt that this will be the case.

It's been a while- how long?

Work, stuff to do, and now my birthday has given me no time to work on this. If it goes up at all, it will be this weekend or early Monday morning. Hopefully I have the time.
