This Gauntlet is now officially closed. Any one that submitted after April 14 until now was accepted, but no more will be now. Of course, any regular submitted HoF game, meeting acceptability criteria, will continue to be accepted but not for this Gauntlet.

Congradulations to Kwibus for winning the conquest G-III Nu with a 3700BC Aztec victory.

In second, just by one turn, is PrinceMyshkin with a 3650BC romp, also with the Aztecs.

Taking third is Tone with a 3300BC victory with, you guessed it, Aztecs.

fourth place is Ljdjr (Aztecs) and fifth is sveusb (Celts).

Not only the fastest PtW Aztec conquest, but on an archipelago map. It goes to show, I think, there is still more to learn about CivIII.

I chose an archipelo map because the computer heavely weighs the presence of fresh water in deciding the starting locations.
On a tiny archipello map there is often just one continent with fresh water.
If the other continents do not have a few nice food bonuses the computer will place all oponents on the same small continent.
