Well, I have submitted 2 games : wins in 1230AD and 1020AD.

I played my usual REX strategy.

Well done. Your middle to late game approach is the same as mine, but it sounds like you are expanding and teching faster. I tend to build several warriors while my pop grows, you are doing much more early chopping. Sounds like a better approach.

Well 1020AD is 2nd.
I think I could improve this to 800AD (22 turns) :
- 12 turns in opening moves (MF a better starting spot)
- 5 turns in middle game (I play this without optimization)
- 5 turns in end game (my last 2 wars were really a mess...)

Chopping take benefit from Joao's 25% worker bonus and 50% settler bonus. You can expand very fast in a tree rich region by investing in early workers.

Steal workers is even an option. Of course, if a stupid AI give you opportunities...

Another way to improve my play is to choose opponents more carefully.

I should have select Mansa for tech trading.
I should have select leaders who capitulate earlier.

Yes, I would love to see the techniques to get to 100 AD. I assume very early rushing, but who knows?

Unfortunately, I've never seen a post from Ironhead . She/he is clearly one of the best players in the HOF, such a shame we can't learn from her/him.

I just opened the save. It's amazing how much conquest you can do with only 4 cities! I'm guessing most of the conquest was done using chariots and HA as Lisbon doesn't even have a source of copper!
