While the general Hall of Fame is an ongoing competition, we like to run time-definite competitions between updates that we call Gauntlets. Standard Hall of Fame rules (*) still apply, but any games meeting the settings will be counted towards the Gauntlet.

(*) Please read the >> HOF rules << BEFORE playing!

Settings:
 • Victory Condition: Diplomacy (though all victory conditions must be enabled)
 • Difficulty: Emperor
 • Map Size: Standard
 • Map Type: Archipelago
 • Speed: Standard
 • Leader: Greece (Alexander)
 • Opponents: Any
 • Version: SV8
 • Date: 2nd November to 1st December 2012
The earliest finish date wins, with score as a tiebreaker.

this one sounds pretty fun. I can't wait for GnK HoF, but ill give this one last 'vanilla' run.

I just played this one, but after reading this post I worry that it won't count - does your version of Civ5 have to be prior to Gods and Kings or is it just that you can't play with or against any of the leaders in GnK? I sure hope it's the latter!

Turn 260....with mistakes. I only really had two cities. Plopped down a 3rd city on turn 202 to pick up some coal and 28 oil. Didn't neeed either with the citystate allies, truly a waste of time. If I had planted one or two more cities by turn 120 or so, I think my time would be lowered by 10-20 turns. Grew my capitol to 42 pop. Thought I would need every hammer I could get, but a gifted engineer from a neighboring citystate changed that. 1 turn to build U.N. with $5,000 the turn before the vote. Made allies with all and declared war on all civs. The end.

First attempt t. 220. Did it with G&K. It is allowed, yes? Anyway, settled 4 cities and captured Copenhagen, which happened to be on my island. Got beaten to PT, which made me finish 10 turns later than i expected. Signed 2 RAs, which were rather weak. Well, every little bit counts.. Did a detour to patronage, while waiting for reneissance. Instant rationalism would be much stronger, of course, yet it is somewhat tricky on islands. Got to try again :).

Made allies with all and declared war on all civs.

Sorry for the question, i am new to HOF. Is this within rules?
