While the general Hall of Fame is an ongoing competition, we like to run time-definite competitions between updates that we call Gauntlets. Standard Hall of Fame rules (*) still apply, but any games meeting the settings will be counted towards the Gauntlet.

Two "pangaea" rolls in a row I start on a continent with 6 AIs and the 7th is unreachable without Astronomy. Never playing Frontier again...

I used IGE just to see how the land rolls and civs spawn for frontier maps in general. About a dozen spawns and I never saw a civ straggle away from the main island with a pangaea start. You must have been really unlucky.

That being said, there's often narrow 1 tile wide stretches and continent-wide mountain ranges that can create really obnoxious chokepoints. This is not by any means the most domination-friendly map.

Played this a couple times. Don't really care to do it again, even though I expect I could shave as much as 20 turns off my victory time with a perfectly rolled map. Also never playing frontier again lol.

Submitted something, but likely there will be entries 50-100 turns faster (t194) - used only 1 army instead of 2. Was slow enough that I got to use the CAs, which are pretty nice.

Did apply a lot of what I learned from earlier discussions here, so thanks all!

Used Land Mass = Pangea. Tried all kinds of combinations of Rain/Terrain/Age w/o any real differences (lots of jungle on arid/cold!). Barbs seem much more aggressive on this map, so I opened Liberty/Free worker/+1, then went honor. Since I had no expos, would probably do tradition opener, then honor, or even straight honor.

On an earlier roll forgot to set Pangea. Had a 4 salt/2 wheat start and all of Denmark/Hungs/Gao/China w/i ~ 20 tiles, all but one in 15 tiles. Slaughtered everyone very quickly and then .... oh well. All this time *no* wonders were created... wondered if I'd done something wrong. Quite amusing when i found the other small continent that had Assyria, Russia and Sweden. Those three on a small land mass was bloody, they were still in the dark ages.
